After fleeing his hometown of Graylan, Michigan, Rodrick Stone wants nothing more than to forsake his violent past and start over. However, just as circumstances improve, troubling news emerges to beckon him home. Only now, things are different, and not in a good way. What starts as strange dreams and random blackouts quickly spirals into a paranormal world from which his soul has no escape—and he isn't the only victim. Struggling to make amends with his father while battling demons inside and out, it's up to Rodrick and some unlikely allies to put an end to the evil before they too fall victim to their own nightmares.

Everyone needs to read this books, everyone! The writing is so good, the characters are so well thought out and relatable that they feel like real people, and the plot itself is so engaging and intense. A truly incredible thriller, one of the best I’ve read/listened to in a very long time. The author should be proud!

A Masterful Work of Thrills, Chills, and Trauma!

But I’m gonna try!! where do I begin? The narrator was amazing!!! Everyone had their own voice that shown through with their distinctive personalities. Jay Parker really brought to life this wonderfully dark tale and I’m so happy to have finally listened to it. Beautiful work from the author in making a huge cast of characters fall into this natural rhythm of familiarity. Not spoiling anything hopefully but some of the raw moments really did hit home a bit. Sometimes I read books and they just don’t feel like they’re conveying the emotions really well, which wasn’t the case here. The world building and mechanics were well written and little details here and there added to the visuals playing out in my head. I literally felt my hands grip my own steering wheel wondering what was going to happen next and really worried alongside them all. Its such an interesting world to dive into and I’ll be patiently waiting to see what happens in the next book. Overall loved it and will definitely be reading again in the near future. Hope this all makes sense
It’s just ended and I’m still sitting here like !!!!!!!!

Literally don’t have the words to describe how I feel
