Publisher's Summary

"Living is taking chances, and Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway® has helped so many people-both men and women-to achieve success." (Louise Hay, the best-selling author of You Can Heal Your Life)

Are you afraid of making decisions...asking your boss for a raise...committing to a relationship...going on an interview...public speaking...facing the future?

Does fear keep you from jumping into life with energy and excitement?

Fear seems to be epidemic in our society. We fear changing plans, we fear staying stuck. We fear failure, we fear success. Whatever your fears, this classic guide will give you concrete tools and insights to improve your ability to handle any situation life throws at you.

Best-selling author Susan Jeffers' timeless teachings live on in this work, based on the same techniques she used in her own life to experience more strength, peace, and joy.

Learn how to:

  • Let go of negative programming
  • Say "yes!" to all circumstances
  • Raise your level of self-esteem
  • Become more assertive
  • Create more love, trust, and enjoyment

Through the process Susan has laid out, you'll discover that fear is simply a fact of life, not a barrier to success. Get ready to take control and move ahead with your life. Feel the fear...and do it anyway!

Struggled to finish

I didn't like how much she talked about divorce. I felt like the most valuable information was in the first few chapters and then I felt as if her personal relationship experiences bleed into the content too much. I'm referring to her own divorce. It really bothered me on how casually she talked about divorcing a spouse, versus working on a relationship with that spouse to create a strong relationship. She just made it seem as if you can just jump in and out of marriages whenever you feel like it. I got the book to personally become a stronger person, not to get relationship advice.

Great book!

This book is great for personal growth. Although the author did not directly relate you "higher self" to God, I was able to place God into that space. Because that is what she means. Stating close to God/ Higher self, you can do anything with out fear. Nothing else can fill that space, only God.

Excellent

Having listened to countless audio programs over the last three decades on the subject of personal development, I would rank this among the best. A lot of great content.

The best of the best!

I read this book when I was 15 and again now at 42. The information is relevant, powerful and inspiring! A good read for anyone struggling with anxiety, depression or just needing some inspiration in life.

Horrible narrator

This narrator was terrible, such an annoying voice. I couldn't finish listening to her so I just finished reading. Really let down!

This book changed my life

I recently realized how much of a fear-based person I am and this book spoke to everything I’m working on. The authors voice is nice. It’s a little outdated at times with technology but overall applicable to any time in life.

I wanted to like this book, but I didn’t

This book contains far more words than it does actual content. I found myself skipping large chunks of it when the author used too many long-winded stories to illustrate her points. An abridged version could easily get the main points across.

The author’s reading style is matronly, bordering on patronizing, which may be an artifact of the time when this recording was made. There are also jarring, new-agey musical interludes at odd times, which also made me wish that she would just get on with it.

Nothing new and the voice is annoying

It was hard for me to finish this one. The performance id annoying and the theme is Just Do It. I understand this is an older book but it needs an update.

Great principles of healthy living that don’t age!

Really got a lot from this book. Can tell it’s a slightly older text now (due to the scenarios of some of the women referred to & references to cassettes etc.) but this did not have any impact on the core teachings which don’t date. Have already started to see the positive impact in my own life from applying the principles. Thanks for writing!

Feels Outdated, some helpful insights but meh

It was ok. I see why it was a best seller...... in 1987.

The intro chapters are insightful, but save yourself the time and google the ‘5 truths’...

great book, wish I'd read it years ago!

loved this book, it's a bit of a big kick up the ass to sort of always try and see the opportunity in everything in life rather than feeling that life is against you...

I would recommend people of all different situations as this will (in my opinion) help with work and personal life.

Not for Me

The methods use aren’t for me. Repeating things every morning feels very forced to me and doesn’t have the desired effect afterwards. Drawing lists and things like that has similar disappointing results.
I do recognise however that other people absolutely find it helpful. I just thought it important to share that everyone has their own way of talking to their mind and just like it’s not the one for me, it might not be yours.
The title and main point is useful for most people though. It’s often the fear that’s stopping you, fear doesn’t control you, it advises you…often poorly.

Not bad but not life changing

I’ve listened to handful of similar ‘self-help-y’ type books and this one didn’t leave me feeling ‘wowed’ like other reviews have said. It was very warm and squishy but I didn’t get any ground breaking bits of info. Maybe I had too high of hopes for it given everyone propped it up so much? Wasn’t bad. Wasn’t mind blowing either.
