Publisher's Summary

How do you find your soul mate if you’re born without a soul?

Deva Rainsong was born with dragon fire in her veins, an ursa’s generous heart, a turul’s skill with song, and the carnal appetites of a nymph. What she wasn’t born with was a soul. It’s all she ever wanted, but the one thing she can never have.

When Fate was handing out those precious things, it must have overlooked her, and a soul is required to unlock the dormant elemental powers within her. Not to mention the only thing that will ever give her a chance of finding the thing she truly desires: a soul mate.

Not only has Fate forgotten her, it seems dead set on destroying the only part of her life that gives her purpose. An ancient bloodline of mixed-breed humans linked to Deva is being hunted by a pack of rogue fate hounds, and her link to the bloodline means she’s the only one who can save them.

She doesn’t count on her quest taking her straight into the arms of a dragon, and she definitely isn’t prepared for the futile desire he incites within her, or the frustrating passion his ursa friend draws out of her. She shouldn’t want the pair so much, but when they both fall victim to the hounds, it may take nothing less than her love to save them.

Warning: This series is a spinoff of Ophelia Bell's epically sexy "Immortal Dragons" series. It is a fast-burn hot and steamy RH odyssey, with some M/M content, not meant for the faint of heart (or libido)...#whychoose!

steamy scenes and heated moments

Holy cow was this book hot! This tale is not for the faint of heart. If the thought of passion flaring between two men, two men and a woman, or multiple men and a woman does not make you instantly feel like you need an air conditioner blasting on high, then this book is not for you. I received this audiobook from a contest I won. After finishing this book, I immediately went into Kindle and found it was available in kindle unlimited and grabbed the second book in the series. I am enamored with this author and cannot wait to delve into a world full of danger, passion, and more questions than answers. Once again, Ava Lucas uses her soulful voice to wrap you in a sensual haze that just doesn't want to let go.

A new author to me

Opehlia Bell is a new author to me although I have listened to the narrators Ava Lucas and JF Harding before. Paranormal is not a genre I often read or listen to. Fate’s Fool was certainly steamy, hot and there is some M/M.
Even though I am not familiar with the series that this is a spin off from, I was able to listen to the story without an issue. The narrators enhanced my enjoyment and I found them easy to listen too.

Such a great audio book

YES!!! We get to finally see part of Deva's story after she escaped home after giving the warning to all the lifelines. The storyline is a perfect fit to the characters and different part of the world that we all know and love from the Immortal Dragons series. I can not wait to see what happens next to Deva and the guys. The audio version of this book is fantastic and the narrators did a wonderful job. I can not wait to listen to the second book in this series

Love This Series!

Fate’s Fools is the first book in a spin-off series from Ophelia Bell’s fabulous Immortal Dragons Series. You’ll find yourself spellbound as you listen to Deva’s story as she comes into her own and deals with her predicament of being “soul-less.” Your sympathy will go out to Deva as her “soul-less” predicament is truly heartbreaking and is interfering with her sense of worth and ability to bond with the mate(s) she desperately wants and is “fated” to have. Speaking of fate—wow…fate is definitely throwing a huge monkey wrench into her life, and has become one of the main “characters” in this story. Having previously read this exciting series in its entirety, I highly recommend that you add the audio version to your library for your listening pleasure. I won’t give away any spoilers, but you’ll be astounded at what these stories have in store for you! This audio version of the story is fantastic and will bring the story to life as you listen along. I absolutely cannot wait until the audio version of Book 2 is released!! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.

UGH! Cliffhanger!

I freaking hate cliffhangers!!! I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. because it wasn't angsty. (I dislike angst). The story line is very creative and different from other books. JF and Ava did an amazing job with the narration. Had some very steamy sexy times.

Interesting plot with lots of steam

How do you find your soul mate if you're born without a soul..... For starting lines they are pretty good. The story flows well with great characters, The narrators have done wonderfully, and a pleasure to listen to. Deva is an intriguing conundrum but as the story progresses she may not technically have a soul, but she has a heart of gold in more ways than one.... Thanks Ophelia Bell for a wonderful tale - look forward to reading more of the series.

very very different, but definitely good!

a strong unwhiney heroine is rare and greatly appreciated. the boys are beautifully written and an excellent RH mix. the m/m is a delight to any fugoshi/yaoi fan.

my only issue with this book is the essential part music plays. personal preference I suppose, just not my cup of tea and it is center to the story.

I intend to continue on with the series and will be checking out the author's other works as well.

So Amazing

What an amazing story plot. Not what I expected at all. Some of the things that went down in this book I didn't even know I'd enjoy reading or listening to but boy did I. This is one of those books that I just couldn't stop listening to I had to finish it in one sitting. And now I can't wait to dive into the rest of this series. Thank you Ophelia Bell for this amazing story.

OMG so much better then ebook

Book 1 of Fate’s Fools by Ophelia Bell
Deva is a mysterious being that has no soul but a massive heart that she wants to give to other people but Deva feels lost especially when she finds out the Bloodline have been attacked and there soul is leaking.
A lot happens and new characters are introduced which does get problematic to keeping track.
New band mates make up Fates Fools and then becomes very intense and very intimate between all characters.
I did struggled a lot with the ebook I did feel like I was being stringed along for awhile but I also struggled with the intense prolonged courting between Deva and her group of lovers, nothing developed permanently till like 90% of the book but in the audiobook it was so much nicer.
I was worried the ebook would stalemate but OMG to kept me hook whole way through and I have given 5 ⭐️ even though I absolutely hate cliffhangers.

Just finished the audiobook and it was even better then the ebook. The narrators were fantastic but it brought the book and characters to life so much. Really looking forward to other fates fools being made into audiobook
