great story fun exciting

one of the best series I have read since I was little well put together well thought out with ups and downs and emotions I have not felt in a story for a very long time thank you writer

Fantastic series!!

I absolutely love this ending! Shawn did this series justice. Other fantasy writers need to take notes. This is how you wrap up a series. Just became one of favorites of all time!!

A fine finish

I have no true complaints about this book or this series, but if I had to find something to complain about it would the big time skips between books. I kind of feel like I missed out on a lot of stuff but at the same time I don’t think that they detracted from the overall enjoyment of the story.
The other thing that I noticed is that the system mechanics also kind of dropped off by the end of things and started heavily favoring plot progression. I don’t think this was a bad thing but I also enjoy the numbers and measured progression. I know some people don’t like the constant stat updates and skill progressions, but I enjoy them.
Regardless, the books did a great job of telling a fun, fantastical, and epic story of dragons, battle, and family.
The ending itself (no spoilers) was not what I would call heart pounding and fist clinchingly amazing, but it was still a very good ending that didn’t leave a sour taste in my mouth. Frankly, any series that doesn’t have a crappy depressing and or bittersweet ending instantly becomes a good if not great book series for me.
Overall, this has been a fun and enjoyable book series and I will try to keep an eye out for other books by this author.

Leaves Me Wanting More

Read the entirety of the series over the course of a week, just couldn’t stop listening. Are there elements of the story that are a bit played out, perhaps. Is there some cheesy dialogue, sure. But this was an excellent story! The conclusion is satisfying and too many series just don’t get to the conclusion before they fizzle out. I feel there are also some plot points left unaddressed in the world that could be the catalyst for a new story. Perhaps a time skip to Karen’s children?
