You've heard the question 100 times: "Is the glass half-empty or half-full?" If we are in negativity mode we see the glass as half-empty. Anyone can see its half-empty. When we are feeling negative, we focus on what is missing and lament the lack of water in the glass. When we are feeling more positive, we see the glass as half-full. Of course it is half-full. Anyone can see that. We focus on what we desire, and celebrate the presence of water. Then there are those who see it as completely full - all the time. These seemingly crazy people are not just positive; they are what this psychologist calls pathologically positive. Pathological Positivity is an empowering mental supernormality that lifts us above the normal perception of "reality." It is a higher level of thinking. We see the glass, and our lives, as completely full - even in the toughest situations. How is that possible? How can we see the glass as completely full? Must we make up facts to justify our theory - our pathologically positive position? Do we pretend there is more water?

Story
One recent December, at age 53, John Kralik found his life at a terrible, frightening low: his law firm was failing; he was struggling through a second divorce; he was living in a tiny apartment where he froze in the winter and baked in the summer. Then, during a walk in the hills on New Year’s Day, John was struck by the belief that his life might become at least tolerable if, instead of focusing on what he didn’t have, he could find some way to be grateful for what he had.

Story
Conventional wisdom holds that if we work hard we will be more successful, and if we are more successful, then we’ll be happy. If we can just find that great job, win that next promotion, lose those five pounds, happiness will follow. But recent discoveries in the field of positive psychology have shown that this formula is actually backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around. When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work.

Story
Overthinking isn't a personality trait. It's the sneakiest form of fear. It steals time, creativity, and goals. It's the most expensive, least productive thing companies invest in without even knowing it. And it's an epidemic. When New York Times best-selling author Jon Acuff changed his life by transforming his overthinking, he wondered if other people might benefit from what he discovered. He commissioned a research study to ask 10,000 people if they struggle with overthinking too, and 99.5 percent said, "Yes!"

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Publisher's Summary
This powerful book is the ultimate guide on how to create real happiness in your life through finding, cultivating, and activating gratitude no matter what your life circumstances may be...and to do it in a way that will change the trajectory of your life.
This book will show you how to make gratitude something you do, not just something you feel, and how to change your life quickly, simply, and permanently as a result. All it takes is one FLIP - that single moment when you decide that you want to stop thinking about the life you should be living and actually start living it!
This highly anticipated new book will show you that the life you want is a lot closer than you think. It's not what happens to us that defines and shapes our lives - it's how we choose to react to the things that come our way. There is only one person who gets to decide how happy and contented you feel, how meaningful your relationships are, how much control you have over your life, and how much success you have - and it's you!
Do you want to create success out of failure? Do you want to feel hopeful about the future? Do you want your relationships to grow and thrive? Do you want to live an abundant life no matter what? Then it's time to stop focusing on the things that happen to you and start being thankful in your current circumstances, whatever they may be. It doesn't matter where you are right now or where you've been. You can begin rewriting your story immediately - and guarantee it will have a happy ending - simply by FLIPping the gratitude switch with the simple four-step FLIP formula!

FLIP your switch!
FLIPping the Gratitude Switch caused me to evaluate the way I live my life, and has been influential in the way I approach my work and my relationships. Instead of choosing to be annoyed by traffic, I'm so grateful that I have a car that I can drive, on smooth roads, in great weather, and that I can live further away from work and not walk. It really changed my perspective to one of pure gratitude and joy.
The author's performance was perfect. He really showcased the passion he has for this project. He was very entertaining, and energetic! The stories and parables were very well constructed, and I saw myself in Jacob, and in the Parable of the two men. Wonderful, I recommend to all of my friends!

The steps to FLIPping the Gratitude switch are in terms that everyone will get! This is my most favorite Personal Development book! I have found myself using the FLIP formula daily and it truly is amazing! I have been recommending it to my team! I highly recommend this book! This Amazing Book is a Game Changer
Would you listen to FLIP the Gratitude Switch again? Why?
Life gets in the way .... no matter who you are or what you do. And when Life gets in the way we tend to fall back in to our not-so-good habits BUT once you read or listen to this amazing book, you're quickly reminded to Flip the Switch and turn your thinking and thoughts around. Having the book in my Audible library is a constant reminder to keep working on my Positive mindset!
Any additional comments?
Kevin Clayson is an amazing man. I've known him for about 3 years and, besides being very entertaining with his fun and quirky ways, he's a visionary .... he always sees the good in everything around him. His persona comes thru in every page of this amazing book and I couldn't be more proud of his accomplishment or the fact that I can call him and his adorable family my friends.

Just what I needed
I've been a bitter uptight ass for a while. This book helped me work on gratitude. The FLIP method is simple, practical and something that I can use anytime, anywhere. I'm still a disciplined ass, but the bitterness and uptight/anger is fading away and I say good! This isn't just a book on gratitude like wake up and say thank you (he says that and levels the strategy up). It's his own mindfulness practice ( I say that loosely, because he never calls it or claims it to be that) where you work with what comes up and see frustrations or situations as learning experiences. I really wish I would've found this a decade or two ago. I will be not only adding this to my kitbag, but also role modeling and teaching my son this very same practice. This is a top notch selection, no question, add it to your library and see how you can add it into your life too. Unless you follow the author you probably haven't done or looked at it like this I'd wager. I didn't, but I will now.

Life Changing
This book has changed mine and my husbands life. It has changed our conversations. It is changing our memories to good, happy memories all the time instead of just at special time. Our life is a good, good life. Now we know how to take that fact in continuously. Now the life that should makes us smile IS making us smile. We can now do what God ask us to do and count our blessings no matter what.
