Publisher's Summary

Val thought it was over, having gambled with fate itself for the lives of all those he loved.

He did not expect to wake up in a hospital bed, in the crosshairs of a professional killer.

A friend he thought lost forever shows him a mysterious game that only a select few can jack into. It's the perfect escape, and what seems a fun lark becomes all too real as he enters a realm where level-ups affect both worlds, dying in game is dying for real, and no one is hungrier for Val's secrets then the men hunting for his head.

Time is running out for Val and everyone he loves.

So much for happy endings.

completely disappointed.

Lets make one thing clear. I loved the first two books. You spend over 20 hours watching Val gain power, struggle, and achieve, then he wakes up from a coma having lost everything he learned l and all his memories of what he accomplished. Listening to a character who blew up a Dreadnought, killed the Overlord, and one of the most powerful Dark Lords we know of floundering about like a noobie again (as of over 4 hours into this book) sucks ass. I really hope this gets better later on, but as of now I won't be continuing the series. Such a waist of a good story line

Damned Good!

Any sequel in a series has to find a balance with the other books in the series. The author found a great way for the majority of the characters to get to the same knowledge and level skill as the main character Val without making it awkward (except for Val and quintessential voice of Oblivion rattling in his skull). Excellent work. I highly recommend this book and hope that other listeners enjoy it as much as I did.

Just a little too many clichés!

Unfortunately this book totally hinges on the old cliché of the main character of getting amnesia and losing a great deal of his power. Unfortunately many authors pull out the old amnesia cliché whenever they want to make the story simpler or do stories that they normally can’t do with the character because of the level they are currently at. This entire story is exactly like that in fact it couldn’t function unless the main character of lost most of his powers and had I amnesia. That’s opening the way for the main character to fall in love with someone different than the last person they fell in love with and committed themselves to. And unfortunately when I see things like this I know that the author simply wanted to do a particular story and they reached onto the bookshelf and pulled off the standard trope to handle the situation and most of those are just ways to handicap the main character.

WTF???????

I am pretty pissed off about this book. I loved Val, Elise, Sten, Gregor, Halvar and even the dwarves in book one and two. Hell, I even kinda liked Selena's character. This book went so far left with the unending amnesia scenario and the intro of new characters I did not like. I just can't seem to get into this book and I am pretty sure this is turning into another harem type series. What a cluster $*%#! M. H. Johnson WTF??? Where the hell is the continuity? What happened to our favorite characters from books one and two? I am so disappointed. No clue if I will finish this book and I dont know if I will waste my credit on the next book.

Entertaining but can seem reaching.

The author has a great storytelling talent. The ins and outs of the plot make for good drama as well as some humor. However the one drawback is at times in an effort to wax poetic the diction seems a tad forced. This is rare but does happen.

Overall an excellent story and great performance.

difficult at start gets better

narration is excellent, same as the first two books.
my difficulty is with how the author moves the main character from the alternative world to the current world which is the same issue I had with book one. However once past that the book picks up pace and delivers as you would expect (I assume you have listened to the first two books!) This book more fully merges the two worlds so I hope the next books make it easier to move forward with the story rather than the confusion of being reborn as it were. Overall a good story I will certainly by the next one

One of the best LitRPG around

The book dose start of a bit slow, But dose pick up it's pace quick, Once again the M.H knock it out the park.
The ending was perfect and the story really well done. The Narrators really bring this book to life, one of the best I have ver listened to

The price is high for listeners

While I have enjoyed the previous two books, Oblivion’s Price is hard to take.
Julia engaging in VR gaming after her experience!? C’mon. No way would she go near anything like what had caused her so much damage.
The most painful thing about this book though is, after listening to Val start to realise his power, we have to listen to him flounder around as a complete noob again. Been there! Done that!
