Publisher's summary

A young exotic dancer claims she was sexually assaulted at a party thrown by a university football team.

Three players are accused.

In the ninth installment of the best-selling Joe Dillard series, Dillard finds himself defending one of the players accused of assaulting the young woman. The case receives national attention, quickly escalating into a platform for deep-seeded division and hatred. It also ensnares Dillard, along with his son, Jack, and Charleston Story into a web of lies and deceit spun by a mysterious figure with a hidden agenda.

Meanwhile, his wife, Caroline, continues her fight against metastatic breast cancer, and his sister, Sarah, comes back into the picture. Culminating in a courtroom scene worthy of Perry Mason, Dillard must take on one of the most difficult cases of his career. Will justice prevail? Or will the weight of the criminal justice system grind Joe and his client to dust?

"Pratt's richly developed characters are vivid and believable, especially the strong Southern women who fight their male-dominated culture from behind a facade of vulnerability." (Publishers Weekly)

Love Joe Dillard

I found these books by accident and fell in love with Scott Pratt’s writing and the characters Joe and Caroline Dillard, Leon Bates, Jack, Sarah, Charleston and so many others. Set in East Tennessee where I grew up, it is a wonderful combination of hometown memories and legal thriller (a genre I love). Please support Scott Pratt and Scott - please keep writing.

Gripping and Great Timely Tale

I love Joe, he loves his wife, children and honest men. He stands up for what he believes in. The narrator is among the best. Sad to learn of Mr. Pratt’s passing. I am a huge fan of these series and I know that it has to end.

Loved this series!

Scott Pratt writes such believable and realistic characters. He takes them through challenges from book to book to book while developing each person so that the reader really knows each one. This would make a great series on Netflix.

Pratt & Campbell - Fantastic Duo!

Not since the days of Stockton/Malone have I enjoyed such a great combination. Pratt & Campbell deliver a literay give and go which is perfect. Due Process is Pratt's best one yet! Precise yet relaxed. Fantastic story line, surprises keep coming, just a great audio book.

So to summarize......I like this book.... :-) Ok. I absolutely LOVE this book!

Scott Pratt Takes on Reality

I LOVE JOE DILLARD! Scott really showed himself to be not just a great story teller, but also an in touch American to the reality of race in this country. This story masterfully exploited relevant and current issues then dealt with them in a way that teaches what true humanism, even before Justice, should look like.
I am so sorry that this marks the end of the series.
