Another great story

I really liked the good and the bad presented in the story! It was detailed and provided all you want in a Christian novel.

Worth your time!

I won’t give the synopsis of this book but Roseanna White has done it again! Rich characters and a pivotal time in history provides the basis for a wonderfully written book! I loved the growth in Phin and Delia, loved Luther and his search for Eva, and loved River and Selena! Sarah Zimmerman did an excellent job as the narrator! I’ll be looking for other books by her! Definitely worth your time!

Ever since I was a little girl I have loved stories about the south and the civil war. Once again Roseanna does a magnificent job of blending the turmoil and trauma of war with the love between family and God. Also one of the main characters is my name…so extra bonus point for that! -Selena

Great Book

Very balanced book. She does not focus only on the horrors of slavery she explains why it was an abomination. Worth the credit.

This author is such a wonderful storyteller to bring history to life woven with scripture… and excellent narration as well

Good listen

Loved this narrator. Story started off slow but then drew me in. Good characters and easy to follow story line.

Captured me right from the beginning!

This story and the reader had me at the edge of my seat at times desperate to hear what happens next - tempted to fast forward my audiobook just to learn the fate of the characters. Speaking of characters, they are skillfully developed throughout and the tale of war, survival, and romance is masterfully woven. I am going to listen to another Roseanna M White book immediately.

So glad I didn’t give up

I am so glad I did not give up on this book. I am a very big fan of this author, I’ve loved all of her books. It took me a little bit to get into this book, I actually almost gave up on it. I struggled with the main character, and what I thought was going to be condoning of the confederate belief.
I am glad I read other reviews and trusted the author. I really enjoyed this book and the growth the characters went through.

Great story of love and true Christianity. If took longer than I imagined but finally the wedding was going to take place.
