Refreshing to have a storyline where we didn’t have to wait for the character to catch on to their love. Sheridan has known since the beginning… EVERYONE knew how he felt from the beginning and it was pleasing to read from that outlook.

This series is suspenseful and exciting! Unexpected twist and turns along with good life lessons. I love this author, & this narrator combined are wonderful.

Love the story, but the narrator is hard to listen to.

I really like this story. I like the way the characters interact, laugh together, and jest. The love story and the adventure story work very well together. I particularly like that the author does not drag out misunderstandings between characters and allows potential love relationships to develop quickly. Some authors like to incorporate much angst into their stories but I like this one especially because that is not the case.
I did however find it difficult to listen to the story due to the shrill nature of the narrator’s voice. Any disagreement between characters sounded like yelling and that encompassed the first few chapters of the book. In addition her representation of many of the young men and the young women in the story make them sound as if they are 70 years old instead of 20- 30. If the story had not been so much to my liking I do not think I could have completed this book.

Wait for the series

As usual, well done from White. However, I wish I had waited to read one until the entire series was available. There are so many characters with so many details that reading book 2 months after book 1, I felt lost for many chapters.

loved the development of Sheridan into a lovable character in this book. and how the larger storyline carried over so well from book 1 to 2 with a natural transition of main characters.

Though my absolute favorite is the Code Breaker series, I truly did enjoy this book! I’m off to see if there is a 3rd in the series.

Love this series! Love this narrator! Deeply appreciate this author. -depth of characters, beautiful story, layers of people and relationships, travel and adventure. Fresh and new story lines without worn out tropes. Good use of emotion and my own mental health rather than wasting it on drawn out character stupidity. Roseanna’s characters are smart and real, and as varied as real humans. Thanks, as always, for a fun and insightful story. —A refreshing use of my limited rejuvenation time after a long day at work.

Update: Narration improves!

I was bothered by the narrator who seemed to me to be shouting for a bit. But it did get better and in the next book it isn’t an issue.

This series is incredible! It is rich with history and beauty and the characters were like dear friends.
