Decent story, horrible narration

I appreciate the omnibus editions of these stories. The story is engaging and keeps you interested. However, the narrator doesn’t know how to pronounce many words, to the point I want to shout while listening “it’s betrothal, not be-tor-hal!” Or it’s warrens, not wārons. Just two examples of the many mispronounced words that rip me out of the story, and are just plain irritating. If it was occasional, I’d deal with it. But it’s massive and continual. If she mispronounces a word once, she continues throughout the stories. She can’t even get the main character’s name right - it’s Amal, not Emil!

Good story; not so good narrator/editing

Worth a listen if you can get past the narration. I dislike being critical of narrators but this one really needs some advice from the more successful narrators, as do the editors.

Please make sure words are pronounced correctly and if unsure, look them up. Editors should have caught the many mispronunciations, as well as duplicated lines. If you can get past the narration, the story itself is a good ‘read’. Its a shame that many will quit listening due to mistakes by the narrator/editing staff.

Probably the worst performance ever.

The speakers inability to pronounce several dozens of words is so exhausting to listen to. If I have to listen to her say brassiere instead of Brazier again I’m going to smash my head into a wall. Imagine a bra hanging in the back of a dragons den instead of a fireplace.

Each time she mispronounces something I have to pause the book and scream the word correctly to no one until I can finish.

The story though is amazing. I find the main character a tad annoying but I see her growing too.

Wonderful Continuation!

Oh my word, Sarah K.L. Wilson, you're killing me! I love these books and so do my kids. We finished this set and have started the next. The cliffhangers drag you from one book to the next because you are so invested in the characters that you have to know what will happen to them. Amel is still awesome and Raolken (sp?) is fabulous. I love their bond.

There is so much that happens in this set and the characters grow and change. I love some of the new characters that we meet and dislike/distrust others. The fights are epic. The friendships grow stronger. The Dominar has me intrigued and I cannot wait to see what happens to the characters I've grown to love (I'm worried about some of them!).
It was a 5/5 for us!

Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

Love the story, the narration not so much

While I am very much enjoying the Dragon School stories, the narration leaves much to be desired. A good editor would help. There are many words mispronounced and occasionally the same sentence is read twice. It hates me from the story. I will continue to listen for the content but would be happier if someone paid more attention to pronunciation and the use of correct words.

I'm trying.

I love the premise. I am pleased that these 5 chapters have been gathered together into a reasonably sized book, which is why I am listening again. The blurbs say I will love the book, but I have to work at it. I pretend the narrator is a well-intentioned neighborhood volunteer reading at the local library. I try to ignore that the moon-calendar citizens would be clueless about "top of the hour" and "on your 6"; that dragon weapons have no sights "to keep them in your...."; that post AOL/Sony Walkman phrases like "wrap my head around it" and "Deal with it!" would be meaningless in medieval times.

It's hard.

Good series

The story line was good. Could of been better if the main character didn't always contradicting herself. It was like she has no self worth. She thought everything was her fault.

good read

struggled with the second round. Not sure if it was the story or the narrator. She spoke so fast in some areas and slower in other areas, I had to slow the reading to 75. Then I could really hear the stumbling and pauses but at least I could keep up during the fast talking. Also not great character voice changes. But over all I would still buy the audible version so I could listen to a good story while driving or doing house work.

Can they escape?

Our intrepid purple dragon riders continue to follow the Dust coven with Incredible battles. Arel finds herself in the midst of political treachery as her group rescue prisoners. The courtship with Lang intensifies, although once again they are separated. I had problems listening to the narrator ùse different pronunciations for many words for example, werrens for warrens. The story continues to grab me and I am off to purchase the next books!

A fantastic epic story with twists and turns, beautiful dragons and horrors you wont forget.

This is a story over 20 books of 2 and a bit hours listening each.

Make sure you get them all, you wouldn't want to miss any.

Full of cliffhangers and action!

Book6- this one just keeps the action going! Book 7: this one gives us some smiley moments! Then the ending is a great omg now on to book 8! Book 8- wow that cliff hanger is a jaw dropper! Book 9-The action gets even more in this one with the romance still just simmering in there! Book 10: this one gives us shocking truth and then a cliffhanger that leaves you 😲

Dragon school audio 6-10

Great to be able to listen to the story even though I have read the books. The story picks off exactly where the last box set finished. Without give too much away if you don't know the rest of the series it full of everything, strife, hope, action, friendship and many challenges. You can feel that things are building up and you definitely want to get the others sets to continue the story .

Needs 2nd narator

Loved the story line! It was a little hard to distinguish between some characters, especially when there was a lot of action!

Powerful

I love this series as does my 12yr old. We both enjoy that the main character has a disability but still succeeds despite challenges of peers and day to day tasks. The values of honesty loyalty and integrity in each of characters resonates. I especially enjoy the nuggets of wisdom throughout.
