Dragonflight
First things first. Mom, I understand know why you nagged me for about 25 years to read this. That out of the way, this is truly unique and wonderful book. A sci-fi soup-opera with freaking dragons. The romance is not overdone (guys think A Princess of Mars) and doesn’t take away from this gripping tale. Highly recommend.
Dick Hill did a fantastic job with this. He’s a great voice for Pern, and having glanced at the catalogue I’m glad I loved it.

love pern
I love reading the books then re-living them in audio, great narration too! Being a dragon Rider on Pern is one of my favorite fantasies.

A wonderful tale
Lessa and F'lar face insurmountable odds with an understrengthed weyr and a Pern that forgot the menace of thread. A wonderful tale.

I don't care about the people or story.
I couldn't find my self particularly liking the characters. Something I recommend is Eragon and it starts with less scheming. To me the story doesn't work because it doesn't generate empathy or make me hungry to here more. I really had hoped for the right book but for some maybe it's right...

incredible series
this is not the first time I've read the dragonriders of Pern series. But it is the first time I've read it through Audible. I highly recommend it if you have to commute.

Love this book!
This has always been my favorite Anne McCaffrey book, it had been a while since I read it and listening to it reminded me why I love it so much. The narrator is fantastic and I actually got a little depressed when it ended. I know I will listen to this one over and over agin.

Still magnificent
I first read this book around 1980. I have adored the series ever since. The story is warm and wonderful, the performance is excellent, and that one part still gives me goose flesh.
Even though I know this story very, very well, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing it read aloud. A girl is never too old to want a dragon for herself.

The Joy's of rediscovering...
loved reading her works as a child, leading me off to dreams of dragons.
Love it more now, like visiting old friends and introducing the to my children.
