Publisher's summary

You flirt with fire...

For Aoife Dakar, seeing is believing - and she's seen some extraordinary things. It's too bad no one else believes that she witnessed a supernatural murder at an outdoor fair. Returning to the scene for proof, Aoife encounters a wisecracking demon dog - and a gloriously naked man who can shift into a dragon and kiss like a god. Now thrust into a fantastical world that's both exhilarating and terrifying, Aoife is about to learn just how hot a dragon's fire burns.

When you date a dragon

Kostya has no time for a human woman with endless questions, no matter how gorgeous or tempting she is. He must break the curse that has splintered the dragon clans before more of his kind die. But his powerful attraction to Aoife runs much deeper than the physical - and there may be more to her than even his sharp dragon eyes can see. To survive the coming battle for the fate of his race, he needs a mate of true heart and soul....

NOOOO! You switched narrators!

I am SO UPSET that you switched narrators for this book!! Barbara Rosenblat should be the ONLY narrator for this series! PLEASE PLEASE bring her back for the rest of Katie MacAlister Dragon books! This book would have been a 5 star book on everything if Ms Rosenblat would have done the reading. A narrator can make or break a book, this was a definite break. Tavia done her best, she just isn't right for this series. And it is hard to compete when we are used to all the awesome voices of Barbara Rosenblat!

I miss the voices

I love Katie MacAlister. And I love Tavia Gilbert, but after listening to all the other dragon books, I miss Barbara Rosenblat. Good story, can't wait for the next one, but bring Barbara back.

Just Plain Wrong!

I'm sorry, I thought this book was part of the dragon series. I'm an hour and 11 minutes in, and dragons have only been mentioned once. With the setting of Goth Fair, and the WRONG narrator, at this point I'm pretty my brain is convinced that this is a Dark Ones Novel, though they have been mentioned either... We waited so long for the next book in the series while Katie went off on other tangents.

I'll probably finish, but it just isn't the same.

Another great book from Katie!

Where does Dragon Fall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Absolutely love this series, and have been waiting for what seems like forever for the Black Dragon books. The only thing that set me back was the switch in narrators. Tavia did a great job with the material, and I am actually a fan of hers from other audible books. Anyone that has listened to this entire series knows that Barbara Rosenblat is the voice of our beloved Dragons, and I sincerely hope that they will have her come back for any books that follow in this series.

great story but... wrong narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of Dragon Fall to be better than the print version?

Haven't read the print. Though it would allow me to remember the voices that were used in the first books.

What other book might you compare Dragon Fall to and why?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Tavia Gilbert’s performances?

I like her as an narrator for the Night Huntress series, but not this one. Having listened to the other Dragon books by Katie with Barbara Rosenblat as the narrator it was very difficult to change to Tavia. I already in my mind had the voices of the characters and their accents and to have the Dragons sounding like Vlad from the night huntress series was jarring. Not to mention Tavia does not have a good French accent, that also had tones of Vlad in it. This narrator took me some time to adjust to it. I would really like it if you went back to Barbara for the remainder of Katie's books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

Please go back to the original narrator Barbara Rosenblat.

hmmmm...Not what I expected

I actually haven't read these books in order (yes, there is a connection but each of the series are independent)

I like Tavia Gilbert but having listened to the other dragon series, the switch was not a good move. If you haven't read the other books, as I hadn't, you won't notice the difference until you do. Although, Tavia was not the best choice, I still think she did a great job. She does a great job with the different voices.

I didn't care much for Kostya character. He seems to high maintenance for my tastes. On the other hand, I liked Evie and all her flaws. What actually made me look into the sequence of books was Aisling & Jim.....

The sequence of series are pretty interesting and I would suggest to anyone to start from Aisling's story then progress from there; however, you will loose nothing by starting with this book.

Narrators

The voices were all wrong. The woman's voice was too overacted. The "mens' voices and accents" were terrible. It took away from the story and killed the romance. It would be good to have real men and real women narrate the voices respectively. Women pretending to talk like a man, and vice-versa is aweful.

Loved it!

I have to say that I laughed almost all the way through this book, as I have most of Katie MacAlister's books, especially the dragon books.
Tavia Gilbert is an excellent narrator. If you're a fan of Janine Frost's Night Huntress Books you'll be familiar with her narration. I have to say I enjoyed her using Vlad's voice for Costia.
Worth a credit!! I recommend for adults only.
