Plot interesting, story just ok
I may have liked it better if I had not been persuaded by the many five star reviews. I found it to be an average vampire story, with very few scary scenes. You can never lose when listening to Joe Hempel, so it could be worth a credit.

Pleasantly Surprised
Wasn’t too sure going in, but it caught me within minutes. I finished it in 2 days. Storyline drew me in and had great character development. Narrator was great.

the story telling and the subtle build up totally keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time
nothing was a great book and will recommend it to all my friends I really enjoyed it and will listen to more from this author

Strong and relatable small town characters
My wife and I really enjoy this book ! we listened to it in 2 hour intervals to and from our weekly trips to the lake. We couldn't wait for our trips so we could continue this book ! and the narration was top notch ...perfect speed tone and character changes !

Not my usual
Don’t usually get into horror fiction but thought this looked good. Liked the time period the characters were well developed and avoided the present day PC demanding tropes. I’ll look for more from Hoobs.
