Publisher's Summary

A husband's lies can have deadly consequences. When Juliet Cole's husband of 15 years is murdered before her eyes, she thinks it was a random shooting. Devastated and traumatized, she answers hours of questioning, then returns home to break the tragic news to her boys. But a threatening voicemail takes this from a random shooting to a planned, deliberate attack. Juliet realizes that she and her children are in danger too, unless she meets the killers' demands. But as she and her sisters untangle the clues, her husband's dark secrets come to light. The more she learns, the more of her life is dismantled. Was her husband an innocent victim or a hardened criminal?

Distortion

What made the experience of listening to Distortion the most enjoyable?

The narrator was excellent. Very easy listening.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Most definitely. There were unexpected villains, life and death injuries. Also poor Julliette as she found out what was behind her husband's murder.

Which character – as performed by Nan Gurley – was your favorite?

I couldn't choose a favorite. All were excellent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The entire ending was phenomenal.

Any additional comments?

I'm looking forward to hearing more books by this author and other performances by this narrator.

Loved the Story... but why the switch???

What made the experience of listening to Distortion the most enjoyable?

Disappointed in the change in narrator. I was driving a long ways so I stuck with it, but almost hurled the iPod out the window going over the Golden Gate Bridge.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Absolutely. I think the story's even better than the first one.

What didn’t you like about Nan Gurley’s performance?

Uh, I don't want to be mean, cause we all have to eat, but BIG difference in audio quality, sound and acting ability. Recording seemed echoey, kinda tinny. (Wow, am I getting snobby now! Sorry!) Why the switch? You start a series with a solid narrator, and you switch? Seemed like just a reading, not a performance.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Love the sisters' relationship, they make me laugh and reminds me of my own family; but again, this reader seemed distant. Her writing is better than ever.

Any additional comments?

Terri Blackstock is the best mystery Christian writer I listen to. Go back to the other narrator or one of equal talents. Give Truth Stained Lies a listen, Otherwise, I'm buying only a hardcopy of the next installment and not the audio.

Exciting ... loved it!

We love all of Terri Blackstock's books. This one is no exception. It was heart-wrenching at times and kept us guessing what the outcome would be. We highly recommend this series and are anxiously awaiting book #3!

Great Book

I've been reading Terri Blackstock books for years and this is yet another series I would highly recommend. The story kept me guessing. And I absolutely LOVE the author's note at the end.
The reader did a great job, as well.

A little predictable

I enjoyed this book however the storyline was somewhat predictable. Or maybe I have read so many Terri Blackstock books that I knew what would happen. There were still many surprises!

Good story with twists

I liked this book better than the first one. The characters acted in a more believable manner and didn't get into situations that would not likely occur in real life. The twists were great with an unexpected ending. I love that this is a Christian author who displays that in her books in a very natural manner.

The performance was good, and it was well read. Many complained that the first book in this series was whiny at times. That distracted me some in the first book, and this reading is much better. The inflections and voicing was very believable. Since I just recently discovered this author, I will follow her books and can't wait to read more of them.

Great intriguing story of Hope

I enjoyed the hope the characters had under the most horrific circumstances. The selfish acts of one person dominoes into danger for an entire family. I hope there is a sequel to learn more about Holly.

shows faith and love

I love how during trials the each reached out to God in his own way. This author is well acquainted with our Lord and Savior. I applaud her witness at the end of each book
