Publisher's summary

On paper I have it all. Wealth, security, and a collection of vehicles that spark envy, even amongst LA’s rich and famous. Money is all I ever wanted, but now that I have it in spades, I’m restless.

For the first time in my life, I want things cash can’t procure. I want a real relationship. Beauty and brains. A salacious little minx who isn’t afraid to call me out. My equal, in and out of the bedroom.

The problem is I have no clue where to find a woman like that.

Imagine my luck when I come upon a curvy, gorgeous maiden in distress, stranded on the side of I-10 like a mirage fashioned from my deepest desires. It’s fate. Kismet.

Only she isn’t impressed. Not by my money, my power, or my ability to make all her dreams come true. Hell, she won’t even accept my ride without an argument. But I’m not giving up. She doesn’t know who she’s dealing with, and I’m not afraid to play dirty.

Dirty Dealer

I loved Jude and Rachel’s story. This book was funny and sweet, with just the right amount of drama and emotion for some tears (no ugly crying for me in this one). And then you add in the narration by Teddy Hamilton - loved his portrayal of Jude. Bonus - a terrific Australian accent for Chance, just dreamy. Felicity Munroe is new to me and I enjoyed her performance, she really captured Rachel’s character.

New to Kacey Shea

Teddy Hamilton is my-instant-buy-guy, but the Hero Club books, for me, can be hit or miss. This one? A hit. It was fun and had the spirit of "Cocky Bastard."This was the first Kacey Shea book - it won't be the last. This was my second Felicity Munroe narrated book. I like her male voice and enjoyed her narration overall.

Brilliant! I absolutely loved it!!

I finished this audiobook in one seating. Teddy Hamilton and Felicity Monroe's performance was perfection, just brilliant!!

Jude and Rachel were guarded with their feelings, and had trust issues. However, the way their story unfolds goes against their life plans, and is very refreshing, intriguing and captivating.

What I loved and craved the most was Teddy's vivid portrayal of Jude's vulnerability, protectiveness, and playfulness. His whole personality was addictive.

The characters were authentic, and very compelling. Both narrators brought the story to life so convincingly, that I felt as if I was part of it!!

Perfect weekend listen!

The Cocky Hero Club books are so much fun! I was thrilled to see Kacey Shea's addition to the series and could not wait to hear it. Jude has it all. All except for the love he is seeking. He wants a woman to be his equal, not one to want him for what he has. Luck should have it when Rachel breaks down on the side of the road. Now coming to her rescue, he may have found exactly who he is looking for. But will she feel the same? It's fun. It's flirty. And the banter between these two is priceless.Add in Walter the dog and it has everything! I love Shea's writing. It's an easy feel, yet the story always resonates with me. This one is so easy to relate to, wanting to believe what you have found isn't too good to be true. Jude and Rachel are perfect! With a flash at the 3 Ugly Boys band, Shea has integrates her Detour series, just solidifying my love for all things Kacey Shea!

Teddy Hamilton easily falls into the role of Jude. A little arrogant, a little flirty and a lot passionate, Hamilton brings Jude to life. At his side as Rachel, he has Felicity Munroe who I absolutely love. She portrays Rachel with such each. Some hesitation, some heartache and a lot of love, Munroe gives her all to make Rachel realistic. This is a fantastic narration team!

Meh

The hero club has been hit or miss for me. A lot of these authors just are not doing it justice. A major turn off for me for this book was writing about teacup terriers. That irritated me so much. I really wanted Aubrey who runs an animal shelters to tell this guy off about them. Teacup anything is just a puppy mill bred dog NOT a real breed. They are basically runts that are unhealthy. Author should really do her research before writing. Now off my high horse. This book was hard to get into for me because of the dogs but then it just dragged on. I did like the banter between the main characters but I did not like some of other characters aside from pixie, Chance and Aubrey. Narrators were great and I appreciated that chance had his Aussie accent. Won’t be reading anything else by this author.

The story dragged on and on

This was a good story about Rachel and Jude but the first half of the book dragged on and on. They did not share their first kiss until almost 75% of the way in. I started this book several times until I could finally finish it. I feel that the writing is good but it is a very, very, very slow burn. The story really picks up the last quarter of the book. I felt the ending was a bit rushed. Teddy Hamilton did an outstanding job narrating as the cocky Jude.

Who's afraid of goats?

Jude and Rachel were everything!! This story totally belongs as part of the Hero Club. Chance and Aubrey feel like they would be friends with Jude. He is a generally good guy and definitely what Rachel deserves!! We even got a few cameos from Ms. Shea's 3 Ugly Guys and Cora Brenton, which were perfect!! The narration by Felicity Munro and Teddy Hamilton is great as well!!

Need Karma update for those bitches!

The story was interesting, but not in depth. I think the male character needed more to humanize him. He seemed too cut and dry. Need more of his real personality or quirks maybe. We hear about his past sure, but it feels so far removed. Who is he today? Otherwise, the performance was great.

Fun, Sweet, and Sexy Story!

This novel is part of the Cocky Hero Club Series, based on Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s Cocky Bastard, with guest appearances from Pixy, Chance, and Aubrey. Also, the interconnection with Detour from the Off Track Records Series is priceless! This is a fun, sweet, and sexy story. Jude and Rachel (Rae) are great character. Jude is handsome, bossy, protective, and caring. Rachel is lovely, independent, and strong. I like their banter, and strong chemistry. Rachel's brother, Jared, is an amazing character, supportive, and caring. Teddy Hamilton and Felicity Monroe did a wonderful job with the narration. I love their voices together. I enjoyed it, and I HIGHLY recommend it.
