What. A. Story. I listened to audiobook

This novel is a hilarious story involving a family-owned bar and bakery, a talking and swearing parrot, and tons of wit.
Oh and an order of hierarchy in a town. You know, the usual
Phenomenal job on audio by narrator and an AWESOME job on story by Landish

Good book!

My first time with this author. Funny, clever writing and a good story. I love CJ Bloom and Teddy Hamilton so realizing they were narrating was an added treat!

Characterization

Wonderful characters and very good family dynamics! It kept your attention as to what was going to happen next with the family dynamics!

Lester !

Ok this was so good! From Lester to grandpa Jo to the whole dang gang! The family dynamic was so relatable and the love was fantastic! Great job too to the narrator’s

Meh

My first book by this author and I finished it, but it was just okay. Didn’t wow me, Didn’t offend nor was it horrible writing. It was just meh.

Couldn’t finish it

Just got tired of language and crudity. Seriously. A little more couth could have really improved this book.

Funny story

This was a great story about a boy named Jed. You will get that joke when you listen to or read the book. But the same town with a major conflict going on make for great moments of laughter.

not Lauren's best story! story is lacking

Lauren is great author but this story is lacking something! the characters were hard to connect with. narration helped though!

A great rom-com!

This one had some true LOL moments, and I absolutely loved it. Grandpa Joe and Lester were probably the funniest 2 in the book, although Hazel and her sharp wit, along with her family were all around a hoot.

Just an overall feel-good rom com for sure. Add in a bit of spice and it's a win for me.

Teddy Hamilton can narrate anything and I'd love it, but he and CJ nailed this one to perfection for sure !

Sort of Blah

Listened to the whole book… it was sort of a disappointment. The main characters didn’t really hold my interest, but since I’d bought it, I finished it.
