Publisher's Summary

If you've always wanted to overcome your borderline personality disorder but don't know how to become emotionally stable, then pay attention...

Are you sick and tired of feeling ‘flawed’ or maybe even worthless?

Have you experienced fear of abandonment at any point in your life?

Do you finally want to say goodbye to unhealthy relationships and self-harming behaviors and discover something that works for you?

If so, then you’ve come to the right place.

You see, a study made by the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia demonstrated that DBT showed differences in impulsivity, suicidality, parasuicidality, and depression compared to client-centered therapy.

Dialectical behavior therapy is a somewhat new research and evidence-based therapy that is recommended by many who are suffering from borderline personality disorder.

Here’s just a tiny fraction of what you’ll discover:

  • How DBT can treat borderline personality disorder
  • Ten powerful DBT techniques you need to know
  • Six simple ways to reduce black and white thinking to avoid emotional instability
  • Seven crucial words you should know to ease your mind from distress
  • The seven skills that can help you feel better instantly and improve the moment
  • Bulletproof ways to enhance positive relationships with others
  • And much, much more

Take a second to imagine how you’ll feel once you can regulate your own emotions, and how your family and friends will react when they see the new you.

So even if you feel like you're on a never-ending emotional roller coaster, you can learn how to deal with your emotions and negative thoughts with DBT.

So if you want to learn more about dialectical behavior therapy, get this audiobook now!

DBT Cliff Notes, Narrated by Google Translate

When this audiobook started, I was shocked by how monotone and robotic the narrator sounded. But, I struggled through this incredibly brief review of core DBT skill worksheets. I would encourage prospective readers to go download Marsha Linehan's core texts and work books and get the full experience, hopefully with a better narrator.

Not much more than a list of mindfulness exercises

Mainly a long lists of repetitive ideas to distract yourself from what's bothering you. I listened at 2.0 speed to get through it quickly. I believe EFT is much more effective.

Definitely worth having this audible.

A very enjoyable read. Enough science to be informative yet not so much as to put the reader to sleep, especially for someone like me without a biology background.

I would recommend it to anyone.

I would recommend it to anyone personally dealing with depression as well as anyone who loves, lives with, or works with people in need of tangible, measurable techniques for improving one’s approach to life’s challenges. Simon and Sarah have created a real gem that I think could become standard reading in the mental health community and will be a book I foresee myself returning to again and again for years to come.

Practical, Useful and Helpful

This book is different in that it is wonderfully structured so that it feels possible to attempt and then complete. The writing is easy to understand and relate to, and the exercises are practical and real. The book asks the kinds of questions that people suffering from depression can still answer and find some hope when doing so. It is the perfect supplement to my work and I will be suggesting to my clients that they consider this book. The skills are useful and practical and not cluttered with jargon and explanations. I believe that these 10-steps can only help.

Want to learn about DBT, try this audible.

I found it very disturbing that 1% of the population is psychotic and the cleverer ones are not identified. None of us are safe from victimization. A lot to great information here.

This is an easy to understand book

This is an easy to understand book, that could be used on its own, in addition to therapy, or even during therapy sessions. Take your time and go through the book one chapter at a time so that you get in the habit of routinely employing Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills independently. Give yourself a chance to work through it slowly albeit diligently and it will be of great help. Both of the authors are educated in and have significant experience in mental health. Being a clinical myself, I’d most certainly recommend it.

A great resource to depression patients.

I quite enjoyed having the perfect examples in the book as it gave me a sense that I was not alone as most people with Depression feel. I focused heavily on the sections about exercise, nutrition and mindfulness as this is my current focus at keeping myself healthy.

Definitely a best book here.

On a technical level, it is written Turner's terminology but offers a high-level overview of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, its variations and a brief description of other therapeutic methods. The natural writing style is simple to follow and comprehend.

A great tool to learn DBT.

This audible is a great tool to have so that I feel proactive and shift my thinking so that I can get relief (as stated in the title)! I recommend this book, and I love having it on Kindle so that I can access it wherever I am when I have free time. I just write the answers in a separate journal.

Something You Can Control

When I feel low, I want to be in control of something. When I have been depressed in the past, I have tried to be in control of one thing, such as making myself go exercise every day.

This book will teach you DBT with details.

Highly recommend. The subject is compelling and Haycock is an expert at balancing well-researched, well-explained scientific information with engaging stories. This book will teach you what the word "psychopath" really means.

I feel like one of those people now:

This book has changed my life. I didn't realise how much emotional pain I was in due to Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It like a veil has been lifted in my mind and I can think clearly for the first time in my life.
