Publisher's summary

If you've always wanted to overcome your borderline personality disorder but don't know how to become emotionally stable, then pay attention...

Are you sick and tired of feeling ‘flawed’ or maybe even worthless?

Have you experienced fear of abandonment at any point in your life?

Do you finally want to say goodbye to unhealthy relationships and self-harming behaviors and discover something that works for you?

If so, then you’ve come to the right place.

You see, a study made by the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia demonstrated that DBT showed differences in impulsivity, suicidality, parasuicidality, and depression compared to client-centered therapy.

Dialectical behavior therapy is a somewhat new research and evidence-based therapy that is recommended by many who are suffering from borderline personality disorder.

Here’s just a tiny fraction of what you’ll discover:

  • How DBT can treat borderline personality disorder
  • Ten powerful DBT techniques you need to know
  • Six simple ways to reduce black and white thinking to avoid emotional instability
  • Seven crucial words you should know to ease your mind from distress
  • The seven skills that can help you feel better instantly and improve the moment
  • Bulletproof ways to enhance positive relationships with others
  • And much, much more

Take a second to imagine how you’ll feel once you can regulate your own emotions, and how your family and friends will react when they see the new you.

So even if you feel like you're on a never-ending emotional roller coaster, you can learn how to deal with your emotions and negative thoughts with DBT.

So if you want to learn more about dialectical behavior therapy, get this audiobook now!

DBT Cliff Notes, Narrated by Google Translate

When this audiobook started, I was shocked by how monotone and robotic the narrator sounded. But, I struggled through this incredibly brief review of core DBT skill worksheets. I would encourage prospective readers to go download Marsha Linehan's core texts and work books and get the full experience, hopefully with a better narrator.

Not much more than a list of mindfulness exercises

Mainly a long lists of repetitive ideas to distract yourself from what's bothering you. I listened at 2.0 speed to get through it quickly. I believe EFT is much more effective.

Definitely worth having this audible.

A very enjoyable read. Enough science to be informative yet not so much as to put the reader to sleep, especially for someone like me without a biology background.

Concise yet comprehensive.

Does a great job of explaining the history, philosophy, and methods of DBT. Follows Marsha Linehan’s “DBT Skills Training Manual” quite nicely.

Lots of helpful information

Exactly what I was looking for. Concise, relevant tips, pointers and lists of things to focus on rather than just the problem itself like most books on the topic of BPD. Would definitely recommend.

Very Useful

The book broke DBT down very well and I feel that it would make it easy for anyone to implement in their own lives.

Want to learn about DBT, try this audible.

I found it very disturbing that 1% of the population is psychotic and the cleverer ones are not identified. None of us are safe from victimization. A lot to great information here.

Thought provoking

The book cited many studies about the functioning of the human brain. The author posed many questions with no definite answers.

Short and Sweet

A good overview of DBT, but the book feels a bit rushed for details and quick. A good starting point for DBT skills.

I feel like one of those people now:

This book has changed my life. I didn't realise how much emotional pain I was in due to Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It like a veil has been lifted in my mind and I can think clearly for the first time in my life.

terrible

This is a confused, unhelpful, strange read, not helped by the robotic narrator. There are much better books on DBT out there.
