Love Ivy

I received this book for free at my request but the opinion is of my own. Ivy is back trying to find answers for the demon child she has adopted. Not knowing much about them she seeks help from someone she doesn’t care for. Now that she knows the answer what will she do to protect the child?

A quick, fun bite of urban fantasy

I really enjoyed this 34-minute jaunt to the exciting life of Ivy Granger, psychic detective. It is book #3.75 in the series, and beware: it contains a few spoilers if you haven’t read books 1 through 3 yet. I had only read #0.5 and #1 so far, but I was fine with the spoilers because they just piqued my interest in reading more of the series. I recommend this little audiobook if you read and loved at least the first book in this series.

This story was quick, but it was great for a short commute. It quickly plunged me back into the crazy paranormal town of Harborsmouth and the quirky bunch of characters that I love. Ivy and her best friend Jinx have a new paranormal problem that takes a team of their buddies to fix. The story felt complete, exciting, and heartwarming.

The narrators Melanie A. Mason and Anthony Bowling gave a lively duet performance. Ms. Mason did most of the narration, and Mr. Bowling contributed the few male parts. This pair are fantastic at bringing this fun urban fantasy series to life.

I requested and received a free audiocode from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Poor Sparky...

NO SPOILERS HERE. Ivy’s beloved little demon baby, Sparky, is feeling under the weather and Ivy must figure out what is wrong and find a way to fix it. This little short story carries a big message about compassion and maternal instincts. I would love to read more about the events at the end of the story and maybe even have that spun into another adventure for Ivy and her friends. The narrators, Melanie A. Mason and Anthony Bowling, both provided superb performances that added drama and dimension to this story. Overall, this was a short but very exciting little adventure for the Ivy Granger series. More please.

Although I did purchase a copy of this book, I was provided with an audio copy and I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.

Wow! The best, everything worked for me!

Wow! This is absolutely the most fun I've had while listening to a fantastic Ivy Granger story! Everything about this worked for me!
And it came at the moment when I needed a change in genres, having just listened to a litRPG I was more than ready for this Urban Fantasy!
I've always had some qualms about Melanie Mason's voice acting, but today when I listened I found that both she and Anthony Bowling were perfect! And, yes I may voiced my desire for more. But, shhhhh... that is my secret, and not for you to tell... Really it was just an off hand remark. I knew what I was getting when I downloaded it!

Too short!

Ivy and her toddler demon are in deep doodoo. They need help from friends fast! I like Jinx's part in this short but busy piece of Harborsmouth life the best.
Narration is done by a familiar skilled pair who always do their best.

Ivy needs to save her demon son from a summoning

Ivy Granger is a private detective with psychic powers. She's using her powers to help keep the residents of the little New England town of Harborsmouth safe from monsters, including demons, vampires, and the fae.

The catch? Ivy has recently discovered that she is fae herself, and her fae powers are starting to assert themselves.

This is a short story, in which Ivy finds her much-loved, adopted demon child, is being Summoned. If the summoning succeeds, either Sparky will become the slave of the summoner, or he'll die.

Ivy is not going to let that happen.

To even have a chance, she needs the help of her former mentor, who really hates demons.

It's a short, interesting, engaging introduction to the series, and Ivy's world.

Recommended.

Devil in the Details (Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective (#3.75), my eighth read from author E.J. Stevens and my sixth Ivy Granger read. Well-written with intriguing characters. I got the book back in August of 2018 and never got around to reading it until now. E.J. Stevens is rapidly becoming a go-to author for me! I was been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Melanie A. Mason & Anthony Bowling’s narration adds to the book's enjoyment. Short but sweet!

The little demon child under Ivy's protection is threatened. Her friends and allies, including one pissed off demon lawyer, will do whatever it takes to save Sparky. Those daring to summon her baby really should have thought twice about rousing the mama bear in Ivy. No spell casting is foolproof and sometimes the devil really is in the details when dealing with Ivy Granger Psychic Detective.

Another brilliant addition to E. J. Stevens much loved series. It may have been short but I loved the way it really helped to advance my knowledge of the main characters and their motivations. I particularly liked that the author chose to go with dual narration. Melanie and Anthony did an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

I thoroughly recommend this little gem to listeners who have time to kill.

Demonic

As I have read many of this author’s books this is the first audiobook I have listened to. It doesn’t detract from the story at all, it even enhances it. The narration is good as I expected. I certainly will listen to another that’s for sure. Recommended listening.

Fun short story

Good clear narration with some great growling and characterisation. The story was a good recap of or introduction to the characters with very little action. It worked as a standalone item, though it felt a bit like a fragment that hadn't quite made it into a full length story, or perhaps a prologue to something more involved.

Don’t mess with baby

In this short story a baby demon is summoned and Ivy won’t stand for it.

This story just about stands alone, as all the important details you need to know about Ivy Granger and her allies, are included; but if you have read others earlier stories it helps.
