Nothing like Alexa Chase

I can’t figure out exactly what changed from the Alexa Chase story to this one, but it felt like this book was written by a completely different author. The story, especially, at the beginning didn’t prove to be as interesting as I expected. The chapters were much much shorter than I think necessary for the storyline and it almost felt rushed as we jumped from chapter to chapter.

I was so pleased with the Alexa Chase stories, that I thought this series would also prove to be just as good but it simply wasn’t. The premise of the book sounded interesting enough, and I thought because of that the writing would reflect this. The details , or lack thereof, didn’t encapsulate me the way they had with the other books. I think maybe there was too much happening at the start and not enough backstory to back it up because I didn’t feel particularly attached to any of the characters.

I also wasn’t that crazy about the person who voiced the audiobook. Her character voices and their accents were all over the place, which made it distracting to keep up with. Hopefully, some of the other book series from this author are better. Overall, not really worth the read nor interesting enough.
