What do a heartless Dragon Shifter, a cold-blooded Basilisk, an arrogant Lion Shifter, and a brooding, tattooed Harpy have in common…?

Me.

Elise Callisto. Vampire. Angel of vengeance. And a girl on a mission to destroy one of them for murdering my brother. I just don’t know which one did it yet.

When I kicked the ass of a Werewolf who was high on a new and dangerous drug called Killblaze, his final words painted a dark reality for me. The King of Aurora Academy killed my brother. The trouble is, there’s four kings at that school, and each of them have motive and cutthroat natures.

Aurora Academy isn’t a place for the faint of heart. To put it lightly, my town is the asshole of Solaria where the dodgiest Fae in the kingdom reside. The school itself is divided by the two gangs who run this town, The Lunar Brotherhood and the Oscura Clan. And guess what? Two of the kings run the gangs at the school, their hatred for each other so fierce I hear a day doesn’t go by without blood being spilled in the halls.

I might be a petite, lilac-haired girl who looks like a fragile doll, but they haven’t been introduced to my fangs yet. And they don’t know why I’m really here. Or that I’ll do whatever it takes to bring down the Fae who took my flesh and blood from me.

I don’t believe in fate, but I do know this…the King who killed my brother is a dead man walking. And I’m prepared to sacrifice my heart, body and soul to ensure I get my revenge.

This is a reverse harem series set in the world of Zodiac Academy four years before the Vega Twins were awakened. Expect some character cross-over, dark and hot romance, and a twisted murder mystery which will leave your head spinning.

Absolutely loved this series. The female lead is strong and independent and her guys are hot. It has a little bit of everything and I found myself laughing out loud more times than I can count. The sex scenes are hot and the story line is great. Well worth the credits. Troy Duran is my favorite male narrator and Keira Stevens is my favorite female narrator. Having them together makes this story even better.

Love this series

The narrators did great. The story wasn't perfect but I enjoyed it a lot. It has some nice steamy scenes, a good plot, and cool magic. It is a bit too repetitive and the main character is openly sexual, which would be better to me if it were at least slightly more subtle in public. I like the different relationships the main girl has with her harem of boys. The changing point of view keeps things interesting and I like the glimpses into the past. The main character's personality is entertaining and I've found myself laughing on multiple occasions at the interactions between her and the boys. I'm looking forward to the next book, though I do hope it's a bit more eventful and less repetitive.

Pretty Great

I put this in my to read list a while ago and I guess I hadn't realized it is set in a high school setting. But I enjoyed it. I like Elise and I'm glad that she hasn't chosen just one guy. I'm really hoping that none of the guys are involved in Gareth's death. I feel like Ryder is probably been asked to kill Dante or Elise or Gabriel. 🤔 I feel like Laney or Cindy Lou are responsible for Gareth's death.
I didnt mind that a lot of her talk is inner diagolue. I mean she can't exactly go spouting out to any of the guys about her true intentions or who she is looking for. I feel like the Kepling brother probably know something. I like the mystery going on.
I'm not usually a fan of reverse harems but I'm enjoying this one probably because it isn't surrounded by her just having sex with all of them and them some how just being okay with it when they are all used to having what they want exclusivly. I like the relationship building. She's getting to know each and they are getting to know her.
I also like the different perspectives and that we also get to see Gareth's pov before his death. The suspense is keeping me going even though it is a little drawn out but I'm not really minding. Good mysteries aren't solved in a week or two, especially with very little leads. I'm curious and will continue on.
I'm listening to these stories and the voice actors are great.

Good mystery

This is set in a (paranormal) high school. Not really my favorite setting. I thought the fact that Troy Duran was one of the narrators would make the fact this was basically a HS romance easier to listen to. I bought the whole set on Audible during a sale so I guess I will listen to them. The story was about a 3 to 3.5 stars and the performance was a perfect 5 for Keira Stevens and the awesome Troy Duran. If you LIKE books set in a HS setting than this is a great book! I don’t, so this was less than perfect for me.

I don’t really care for High School books.

This book made me laugh out loud, and flush with desire. So well written and am excited for the rest of the books!

So fricken good

Gabriel being a scorpio doesn't explain earth element. Scorpio is a water sign so it explains his water element. for a book series so heavily based on astrological signs I feel this is a rather big over sight. otherwise love the books.

Basic research is required

This book stole my heart and introduced me to the "Why Choose?" genre. I read the ebook first and now "re-read" via Audible!

Dark Fae is read in dual narration. Keira Stevens and Troy Duran do a fantastic job, but their voices didn't match what my brain created when reading the ebook, so it took a slight adjustment. That's 100% not their fault, just my brain's! They keep a decent pace, which allows me to listen at 1x speed without it feeling too slow. Troy's voices for Dante, Leon, Ryder, Gabriel, and Gareth are relatively distinct, but I did lose track of who was talking a few times.

As this was already one of my favorite books, I had zero issues getting into the story. It was just as good as a re-read! There is romance, conflict, humor, and a little bit of mystery. It also provides a great introduction to all the characters but leaves room for more in the following books. The sisters have a way of storytelling that I love, and their humor is unmatched, in my opinion.

If you haven't entered the world of Solaria or read/listened to any of Caroline & Susanne's books, I 10/10 recommend listening to this one!

Is it love?
