Homeland Security investigators Pope Dades and Felix Jbarra have been partnered for six months and the excitement on and off the job keeps getting better. Working together every day is generally routine, but when the partners are assigned to supplement the Secret Service on a VIP protection detail, things really begin to heat up.
An alternative energy conference is being held in Los Angeles. When Felix and Pope learn they’ll be bodyguards to a Saudi Arabian prince, they’re expecting rides in fancy limousines, a stay at the world-famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and exotic food. What they don’t expect is being once again thrown into the line of fire...literally.
Someone has put out a hit on Prince Ali ibn Abd Pasha, and the killers want it carried out on US soil to embarrass the Americans in retaliation for US news coverage over the murder of one of their journalists late last year. Felix and Pope only learn of the danger to the prince when a Secret Service agent friend is nearly killed.
Pope and Felix dive headfirst into another exciting case, but when they learn the man they’re guarding might be involved in arms trafficking because of ties to Mills Lang, they are forced to, once again, call on their buddies at the ATF.
Action, intrigue, and danger abound in the thrilling conclusion of the Thin Blue Line series.

Here's a funny quote. "The man had climbed the huge oak to the first wide branch about fifteen feet off the ground and he now sat there with his bare legs dangling over the side. His shorts were torn, his tank top was filthy, he was missing one shoe, his hair was mussed, and he was surrounded on all sides by squirrels… fucking furious squirrels. Pope had never heard that much angry chatter in his life but apparently, a hundred enraged rodents sounded like that. He burst into laughter and the guy looked over at him. “Help me! They’re gonna eat me!” Pope simply shook his head, grinning like an idiot, and pulled out his phone." LOL
Patricia Logan & Michael Pauley are awesome!!!!!

Were there any parts I found annoying: no
Did I feel an emotional connection to the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: in a heart beat
There is so much going on in this book - all culminating into one very complex and satisfying conclusion!
It's fast paced, action packed, controlled chaos. With our friends from the other Alphabet agencies working together it's guaranteed the bad guys are going to lose! 😁
Michael Pauley (aka Michael Dean) does a great job bringing the characters in Crime and Chaos to life, characters from the other books are consistent, all the emotions, excitement and tensions are there making for an excellent listening experience.
This has been an awesome series and one I will happily listen to again.
