Publisher's Summary

Former CIA operative Damon Thorne is a fixer. He cleans up messes other people make of their lives to forget the wreckage his own has become. Whether it means retrieving a drug addict whose family is being blackmailed or rescuing a furball who’s the subject of a custody dispute, Damon just gets things done.

When the job means kidnapping the wild son of a prominent senator in an election year, it should come with hazard pay.

From the day Jude Chenoweth was born into wealth and position, his father has groomed him to follow in his footsteps. Jude has other plans. Openly gay and infamous, all he wants to do is live his life, create his art, and never settle down.

Life has a way of kicking butts, even the sexy ones. Thrown together in a situation neither wanted, Damon and Jude must now decide how to move forward. Jude knows something is wrong when he gazes into Damon’s haunted brown eyes and Damon recognizes there’s much more to Jude than the caricature he shows the world.

This might be the beginning of a journey...or an incredibly stupid mistake. Perhaps working together will help them process their own demons. Whatever happens, neither of them believes Damon’s assignments will always come with a heaping helping of bad guys.

Not always...right?

Another 5-star Hit!

I’ve always love the awesome combo that is Patricia Logan story + Michael Dean narration.

Ms Logan knows how to tell a story filled with action, suspense, lovable characters with flaws and history, and let’s not forget that she writes the hottest sex scenes as well.

This new series is up to par. I love Damon and Jude. They remind me of Jarrett and Thayne, in a way, because of their chemistry that’s so palpable. I also love that there’s no unnecessary push and pull between two MCs. Once they’ve decided they’re in, they’re all in. It’s refreshing to read that kind of romance. The supporting characters are also lovable, Ms Logan has always written them in such way.

The action scenes in this book are pretty cool, what’s cooler was the spy information that’s also presented. I always learn something new with I read a Patricia Logan novel.

I also firmly believe that it should only be Michael Dean that should and could narrate her books. Because why mess with perfection, right?

Damon and Jude

I so missed listening to Patricia and Michael together. I just loved this one, I laughed, I did tear up and I yelled at the characters (I just love doing that) I love how much I got into it and missed how intense she could get and how much she loved (spoiler or not...lol) kidnapping people and making them suffer just a bit. These two are amazing together, so are Damon and Jude. It didn't disappoint me at all and I can't wait for the 2nd one!!

Good but...

It's pronounced "sePULveda." Not "sepulVEda." Other than that glaring faux pas, the story was good and Mr. Dean's voice and acting drew me into the riveting drama.

Not worth it

The narration was the best part of this horrid story and Michael Dean isn't one of my favorites. Skip the book and save your money.

Disappointing

I really hoped this book would be like the Executive Office Series by Tal Bauer, with a good balance of relationship development, chemistry, plot, action and intrigue; and politician-related and secret service type leads. Then I saw that the narrator was Michael Dean, which gave me pause as I find his voice nasal and insincere and quite grating. I also associate his narration with books that are more shallow fluff, that don’t suck you in. But, being ever the optimist, I gave this book a go. Wish I hadn’t! It’s such a drag. I got so bored and it was so difficult to get through it. Damon is awful at his job and makes ridiculous decisions. I’m surprised he’s survived this long. Didn’t feel into their relationship either. I won’t be getting the next book in this series.
