Admiral McCraven is such a good writer

Animal McCraven, and talking about leadership, is not afraid to mention some of his own short balls, and doing his job as a naval special operatives officer with the Navy Seals. I have never been disappointed by any of his books.

Great insights

The chapter on morale especially should be required reading for anyone in business. Great book with relevant historical examples from a military standpoint. I have already recommended to the LT I support.

Not Rushing to Failure

The principles of not panicking during tough situations. I loved the principle of Not Rushing to Failure.

Resurgence of Micromanagement?!?!

I know a lot of great leaders that cut their teeth under micromanagers and lead most of their successful careers as micromanagers. It’s been a while though since I’ve read (listened) to a newly released book leaning heavily on that style of leadership.

I myself am of the mindset of a servant leadership, so some of the information shared helped to take a step back and view positive aspects from another side of the same coin.

Sometimes it’s difficult to “hear” and appreciate opinions that are different than your own. This book definitely helped me broaden my perspective and allowed me an opportunity to grow as a leader.

Enjoyed the history behind the lessons learned and the frank reality of them which enhanced the learning curve!

Another great resource

Admiral McCraven has done it again, produced another outstanding resource on leadership and crisis decision making. His points n my humble opinion are spot on with a focus on Learning and adapting from mistakes. Owning our mistakes and reporting them up the chain so ideas and resources can be focused on dealing worth the crisis. Also great ideas 💡 for leaders in developing themselves and their people, preparing them for the ambiguities, risk, uncertainty crisis is made up of. Highly recommend the admirals books.
