Publisher's Summary

Effective techniques for rewiring your brain!

Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, and negative thought patterns?

If you are looking for a way of dealing with your depression, anxiety, or other mental health issue, then you may be interested in the power of cognitive behavioral therapy. It is all about understanding a specific issue you are dealing with and teaching you to manage it effectively. If this sounds good to you, then Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: A Psychologist’s Guide to Overcoming Depression, Anxiety & Intrusive Thought Patterns - Effective Techniques for Rewiring Your Brain is the audiobook you have been waiting for.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) works based on the assumption that not all behaviors can be controlled by conscious thought and will alone. In fact, behaviors actually occur due to a mix of external and internal stimuli and years of conditioning in one way or another. While other types of therapy may be curious as to the deeper meanings behind your thoughts and actions, CBT is instead focused on getting results. In this audiobook, you will find a wide variety of different subsets of CBT, each focusing on a different aspect of the process, along with plenty of different exercises that you can try at home for yourself.

Issues that CBT is known to positively affect include psychotic disorders, nervous tics, eating disorders, dependence disorders, addiction, anxiety disorders, PTSD and mood swings. While this type of therapy is naturally not going to be the right choice for everyone, it has been shown to help those who are dealing with the outlined conditions more noticeably than psychodynamic therapy and other, more traditional options.

Inside you will find:

  • Tips for getting the most out of cognitive behavioral therapy
  • A list of common cognitive distortions and how to keep them out of your mind
  • Easy ways to build your tolerance to all types of distress
  • Multiple different ways to improve your ability to be aware of thoughts without interacting with them
  • Effective exercises that let you harness the power of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy for yourself
  • How to track down and deal with your negative beliefs once and for all
  • Tips for locating your negative mental patterns and useful ways for getting rid of them once and for all
  • And more....

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your copy today, take control of your mind, and start your healing journey!

Amazing!

I have been using them concurrently. And I love it! I have tried to get help multiple times in the past and have been unsuccessful in those attempts. These books are amazing if you are like me and don’t necessarily appeal to the idea of sitting and spilling your life story to someone across a desk.

Really good Audio book

Very readable and I started treating myself right away after the first few chapters. It is an excellent layman treatise on the subject. Finally I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself. Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me. Seriously. But you need to want to be positive. Life is hard and I can see how some of us may not want to get over a passive negative
pessimistic state.

An excellent resource

As a CBT-focused clinical psychologist working with individuals struggling with conditions that span the anxious/depressive spectrum, I often find myself wishing that concepts I implement were more widely disseminated amongst the general populace. In CBT Made Simple, Seth Gillihan has created a wonderful resource for those who have had difficult inner experiences that can interfere with life (read: most everyone)

Lovely Illustrations

A beautiful, profound and poetic tale of a parent's love for their child. It tells about how a parent and child see time differently. However, they can still enjoy a beautiful moment together. This is a picture audiobook with lovely illustrations that goes along perfectly with this story.

I bought this audiobook and another one by Seth Gillihan, Retrain Your Brain: CBT in 7 weeks, and I have been using them concurrently. And I love it! Looks good so far and lots of info. I tend to put books down that don't grab my interest right away but I will read this one.

CBT Expertise at Your Fingertips

It's very easy to use for an individual or in a session with clients. I like that there are "homework" type questions at the end of each chapter and worksheets you can photocopy to hand out or just use yourself.l, grounded in research, accessible. In my podcast interview with it became clear he has a solid grasp of CBT.

I needed this audiobook

I currently at 10 and a CBT group and I wanted to read this audiobook to see if it was going to be just as effective as going to a group that I have not learned a heck of a lot from. And so far I see some things in here about how to control your stress, anxiety,

Excellent audiobook!

I work in the mental health field and have had training on CBT and seen the results of this type of therapy. I found the audiobook to be very easy to read and understandable. If a person cannot (or will not) attend therapy in person this seems like the next best thing, especially if the depression and/or anxiety is not already too debilitating.

Great guide

I bought this work audiobook to familiarize myself with CBT techniques and its foundation. The audiobook is written clearly, without any complicated jargon and the examples provided are easy to relate to. I would highly recommend this workbook to either self-help or for someone, like in my case, wanted to learn more about CBT and gain quick knowledge about using CBT model with depressed individuals.

Good Audiobook

This is a great audiobook and had been helping very much. At first, it is a little hard to get into due to author fluff at the start. I just want to know if it works, not your life story - it's supposed to be about me so get to the point author. I find myself going back to it when mini issues are happening. It helps to keep me grounded and organized in my own head.

This Audiobook is a Life Changer!

I have to admit that I am skeptic when it comes to trying new things. I don’t like to try new foods, new shows, new places…nothing. I think it comes with the territory because trying new things can sometimes cause my anxiety to go into overdrive.
