I know - these books can be predictable. The wonderful characters make up for that. I often find that the lovely characters, setting, and even the predictability to be soothing and comforting. And a story that gives warm fuzzies helps, too!

Such a cute story with delightful characters. Great setting, fun twists and turns and a couple surprises...and a very satisfying ending.

Holiday Trip Back to Mure

I love Jenny Colgan books for when I want something, sweet, humorous & sentimental too. O Christmas at the Island Hotel gives us a trip back to the Scottish island of Mure & all of its inhabitants & it was a pleasure to visit with Flora & her family & friends. The narration was fabulous & it had me smiling & tearing up—a delightful holiday treat.

Really enjoyed reading this book and I’m going book to listen to the earlier books in this Mure Island series. Love her descriptions of far off places - takes me right there.

Nice mix of romance, heartbreak and humor.

It's very easy to like the characters in this book. They come across as very likable and human. The narration was really very well done. The story was different than what usually happens. Very enjoyable.

Wonderful Holiday Read

Definitely enjoyed this quick holiday read. Perfectly narrated and the story kept me engaged. It was a happy book that gave me all the holiday feels. A sweet read!

Difficult to change narrators in a series

I enjoy this series with its wonderful local colour and many characters, but I had difficulty hearing them in a different “voice”. The narrator was fine, but it was disruptive to have familiar voices suddenly unrecognizable in a story that was clearly meant to be a pleasant holiday “easy read/listen”.

Narrator made me return the book

I LOVE Jenny Colgan and her books set in Muir. However... the narrator (who is different from the books that come before this one and is great) wrecks the story and it was so bad, I had to return it.
