Wonderful Enemies to Lovers Novel

Venture capitalist Claire Presley is giving up the power position in NYC for Eagle Cove, Oregon. She want to renovate a place into a retreat for women who need a place to withdraw and relax. Librarian Ruby Jordon had a dream of turning the same place into an animal sanctuary. Now they’re at loggerheads. The characters are great, the animals are adorable and the chemistry is simmering. A fun love story. Great narration.

Dreams can come true

City woman Claire comes to a small town to follow her dream. Ruby has grown up in this small town and has a dream too that is dashed by Claire. Claire seems to grown on the towns people, but Ruby is taking a bit longer. Everyone can see that as Ruby & Claire become friends that there is a strong attraction there. Great cast of characters and animals. A heart tugging story with a lot of passion. Sophie Daniels was the narrator for the story and I enjoyed her narration immensely.

Cute rich girl/city girl

This was a cute rich girl meets city girl who bought her dream property. Country girl wanted an animal rescue and the city girl wanted a retreat for women. Nice about of spice and likable MCs.

Very Enjoyable Story

Well written and entertaining. Narration kept me engaged and smiling throughout the entire story. I have always enjoyed A.L. Brooks writing and this one did not disappoint!

Really enjoyed this book. "Chasing Dreams" is very enjoyable to listen to. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

City Girl vs Small Town Life

IMO a book can't be enemies to lovers if it is one sided. Plus, Claire wasn't Ruby's enemy, they didn't know each other. It was just Ruby having a temper and being immature because she procrastinated and lost out on a property she desired.

Two women with their own dreams that are attracted to each other from the beginning. They both have battles within, which were drawn out a little too much.

Great book

You don’t need a major drama to enjoy a good story. Especially if narration is good as well

Excellent story and narration!

I loved this when I first read the ebook version. The excellent narration by Sophie Daniels makes an already wonderful story even better. Highly recommend! The main characters, Ruby and Claire, are likeable and swoon worth. Plus there are some wondeful secondary characters - Ned, Wayne, Katie, Shirley & Pete as well animals Ninja the cat, Hettie the donkey and Eleanor the chicken 🥰.

Good Enough

I liked the story enough. Being a native Oregonian, I was excited to experience a story set in the beautiful part of the state that it is. The thing that peeves me is when a narrator can’t properly pronounce region specific names. This happens too often, and happens a here. It’s annoying and distracting to me.
The story itself is okay, but I felt it needed a little more. It felt a little too…surface. It’s possible that was due to the narration. I just didn’t feel it. I was a little bored at times.
Overall, no regrets. It didn’t knock my socks off or anything, but it was an easy listen.
