Publisher's summary

Carter bought his way out of the Mafia to protect Emma, but when an old ghost returns to the Mauricio family, a chain of events starts that can harm everyone. While Carter must decide to return to the Mauricio family or not, a face that is oddly familiar to Emma comes into her life. She's given the chance to discover more about her family while tension between the rivaling Mauricio and Bertal families comes to a head in an explosive way. The truce is officially off, and when the two worlds collide, Carter's decision is made.

He didn't start this war, but he will end it. He will do anything to protect Emma.

EVERY BIT AS GRIPPING & ENJOYABLE AS BOOK 1

The pulse-pounding action continues as Carter gives up his Mafia interests and hands it all over to his friend/Mafia son Cole despite being begged to take over as Boss. But he can't yet walk away because someone is still after Emma and repeatedly tries to kill her.. and they come very very close to succeeding. This sends Carter into a protective frenzy as he tries to second-guess, outwit and destroy any and all threats against the love of his life. Emma comes face to face with her long lost sister and that stirs up dark memories and there's unexpected answers too but unfortunately her sister is about to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I've loved these two listens - this is equally as riveting, addictive and pulse-pounding as book 1 and this time there's a few more Chapters from Carter's POV. Both narrators did a great job at bringing all the characters and action to life.

Worth a credit? Yes.. and I'm eagerly anticipating Cole's story.

Great Book

I loved this book. The first one wasn't too bad either, but this one definitely out did the first one. I love the strong character Emma became. This book was full on drama, twists, passion, and even had some funny parts. What a wonderful book.

Narrative lacked passion

I was enthralled by the narrators in the first Carter Reed book. This one felt like I was listening to a lecture, I continued to listen because the storyline was good. I wanted to know how things worked out for Emma and Carter.

Good Follow-Up but not Amazing as Book !

This was a great follow-up to Carter Reed... but not as amazing as book 1!

Don't get me wrong... Carter was still bad to the bone Carter, doing his criminal things.. but this time around... we didn't see much of the bad things he did... he was away most of the story, preparing to go legit... WHY!!!???

It was good...well worth a buy, sale or credit... but it was not AMAZING like book 1....

I hate dual narration... hate... so this lost a star in performance for that...although both narrators where great... it just wasn't done simultaneously like dual narration is supposed to be done like.... Story lost a star too, but because it wasn't super great like book 1, just great...

Fans of Tijan will enjoy this... especially if they have listen to book 1...which everyone should ....

Brilliant

Tijan blew me away with this book. I love Carter and Emma's story. It's so beautifully twisted. I could read it over and over again. The literary brilliance of this book is beyond words.

Second book!

This audiobook wasn't as good as the first one for me, even though they added a second voice for Carter. It seemed to drag on despite the action. The narration was quite good though and you do get a resolution of sorts to Carter and Emma's story.

Tijan smashed it!

A fabtastic conclusion to a brilliant duet. I loved every grity minute of it and have already downloaded Cole, ready to start as soon as I finish typing.... Narration was good, I would have given it 5 stars if Christian Fox had narrated more of the book, the few chapters he narrated were very small, and I just wanted to melt into Carter's voice.

Thanks Tijan for an epic journey!

Should have been so much better!!!

What an ineffectual female! Always banging on about fighting and going into the storm with Carter and she ends up having an out of body experience or sitting there like a dummy. What a wasted opportunity to really show some kick ass character.

As for Carters crew all but being annihilated he can't have taught them much!

Too much waffling and not enough action.

Wow. Equally as good as Book 1

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, as long as they are friends that love my kind of books

What did you like best about this story?

Love Carter so much. The perfect bad boy/mega hot mob boss. Love, the love and devotion Emma and Carter have for each other. They really are soulmates. Emma chooses Carter over all else, including family and friends when it comes to the crunch. They are so much in sync, they are so meant to be together. Loved this story, a lot of twists and turns, lots of romance, love, family and friendship, along with gunshots, kidnapping and fighting. Love love love ❤️

I enjoyed it

While I did enjoy the story, I felt like it had potential to be so much better. Little less angst and guilt from Emma definitely would have helped but over all a good listen.

Fantastic ending

Carter Reed 2 by Tijan is the second book in the mafia romance duet.

Emma and Carter’s story continues and there’s so much more in this book than expected. I thought book 1 was enough to make this a stand-alone, but really the second book was needed.

Theres’s a moment filled with so much emotion between Carter and his men, and I found myself teary due to this unexpected moment.

The story is dual POV’s from both Emma for most of the book and the from Carter at times as well.

Carter Reed.............!!!!

Carter Reed 2, the story line was a little mundane, no electricity like the first book.
