Publisher's Summary

For small-town tattoo artist Levi Wells, his few forays into love have only brought him trouble. When trouble with a capital T came sashaying into town two years ago in the form of flamboyant young dancer Jay Owens, Levi becomes more determined than ever to stay away from anything remotely resembling a relationship. Especially one with someone so young and different than him.

Two years. That’s how long Jay has been trying to wear Levi down. But, Levi only sees Jay as a thorn in his side and balks at their differences every chance he gets. Luckily for them both, Jay isn’t going to let a little thing like Levi’s reluctance stand in the way of getting what he wants.

Levi is as stubborn as Jay is tenacious, and they find themselves at an impasse. When Jay inadvertently gets himself into an unnerving situation, Levi’s protective nature surges forth even as he berates his heart for getting involved. Will Levi stay focused on their differences and keep fighting his true feelings? Or will Jay finally burrow through Levi’s self-imposed walls? One thing is for sure, you can’t fight love.

Can’t Fight It is a male/male romance meant for ages 18+ due to language, themes, and adult scenes.

I enjoyed this book! It was a quick listen, but the author made time to create depth in the characters. Great narrator as well!

I love Jay and Levi together.

I did a beta read of this book for Ms. Ellis and I loved it right from the first page. It starts out with one of the hottest scenes I've read in a while. Can't Fight It is the second book in The Blueridge Junction Boys series. While you could probably read this as a standalone I strongly recommend reading Fight For It first. Fight For It is about a different couple but it sets up a lot of things for the rest of the books in the series. So much of the history of Levi and Jay's relationship is in that book; reading it will definitely enhance your enjoyment of Can't Fight It.

Jay Owens is young, much too young for Levi Wells – or so Levi thinks. Jay is just not the type of guy that Levi usually goes for – he's too slim and lithe. Jay could also be a poster boy for the stereotypical young, gay, twink. He's a dancer at a local gay club and favors flashy outfits and wears makeup.

Jay moved to Blueridge Junction two years ago to escape his less-than-desirable home situation. He can barely make ends meet and his friends in Blueridge Junction often help him out by giving him leftovers and inviting him to dinner.

Levi is a tatted, macho guy and he isn't happy that Jay's been making a play for him over the last two years. Jay loves to tease Levi by calling him "Daddy."

Can't Fight It isn't exactly a friends to lovers story, I guess it's more of a frenemies to lovers story. While Levi and Jay might not exactly be enemies they aren't really friends either.

I'm not giving anything away to let you know that Levi and Jay do eventually get together – this is a romance story after all – but the journey they take to get to their HEA was a pleasure to read. At times I laughed out loud and at others I shed tears. When Jay finally wears Levi down he is elated but also scared. He's wanted Levi for so long that now that it's happening he's not quite sure how fast he wants things to go.

I think this might be my favorite book by Ms. Ellis now. Once I started reading it I didn't want to put it down and was quite frustrated when real life intervened and I had to stop reading for a few hours. There is quite a bit of set-up for the next book but there isn't a cliffhanger as Levi and Jay's story has an HEA. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Can't Fight Love

I love how loyal and persistent Jay is. Levi tries so hard to not give in but sometimes you can't fight love. I listened to the audio version and it was a fun listen.

Can't Fight Love

Really love the second book in this series. The buildup from the first book got me excited to see how Levi eventually crumbles and gives in to Jay. It was long time coming but both guys deserve happiness and it was great. As always, the narrator did a wonderful job and love his voice. Great story with a great group of guys.

I received a free code for this audible and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great continuation

This is a great continuation of the series. I love that they didn't draw it our excessively since when we start they're already 2 years into the wait. I did appreciate it moved a little slower though. Everything was resolved a little to neatly for my tastes but it was ok. Narration was done well overall it's a fairly quick and enjoyable listen.

Good Story!💜

I’m really enjoying the characters in this series. I was hoping for a little more of the banter between Levi & Jay like we saw in book 1, but it was still a great story. Emotional & heartfelt, sexy & romantic, drama & humor, this book has it all. The narration was fabulous. This is book 2 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book/series!

Good listen

This book follows Levi and Jay . Jay is almost 21 and he’s tormented Levi for the past two years now he’s 21 he’s hoping Levi will enter into a relationship with him. Levi insists he’s to old for Jay and he’s determined to ignore Jays attraction to him. However things don’t go quite to plan and Levi admits he feels something for Jay.

Can't fight the inevitable!

Age gap (not major but Jay is just about to turn 21 and Levi is in his early thirties) and opposites attract in this second instalment of the BJ Boys series.
Jay is relentless in his pursuit for Levi and Levi is all out of excuses to fight the attraction that has always been there for the younger man. Except the physical attraction has deepened over the past two years in at least a friendship, so when Levi finally relents and begrudgingly acknowledges there may be a possibility for them after all, things kind of go from zero to sixty in two seconds flat!
I loved Jay’s sassiness and Lev’s grumpy protectiveness.

Great story with an age gap

The older guy just can't fight the attraction however hard he tries and with the little cuty dancing round him he loses the fight. A lovely story A D Ellis.

So good

I loved this, the suspense and Levi trying to avoid his feelings. This was a very suspenseful and entertaining story with a lot of humour to keep things fun.

I again really enjoyed Christopher’s narration he is very good as distinguishing between the characters which really pushes the story to the next level

as good as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Jay is my favorite character in the series!

Jay is so lovely! Since book one with his nicknames for the BJ boys and his young savvy heart. He know what he wants and its Levi, older and protective and gorgeous. He had to work hard all his life and now for his love. I enjoyed their romance, Levi had to give in sometime and their banter is so cute. There’s also a stalker in town and poor Jay is the target so there’s a bit of suspense too.
