Publisher's summary

One fresh start. Two broken souls and a last chance to find salvation.

They say that time heals all wounds, but they haven’t been handed a folded flag. Almost six years later, Chloe Triplett is ready to try and move on. New job, new town, but saying you’re ready and actually doing it are two very different things.

Besides, what kind of crazy person would want to take on a single mom with a dog?

They say that pain is temporary, but they haven’t buried someone they love. Miles Kent is treading water. His SEAL career is over, and the ghosts of his past are holding him hostage, haunting the present.

How does a hero admit he’s the one who needs help?

Crashing into each other’s lives might just be the best thing that ever happened to them - but how can either of them take a chance on love when they know the pain of loss all too well? It will take a discerning dog, a surly tween, and a superman to discover if Virginia really is for lovers.

Sweet Love for family story

The narration made this love story come alive, feelings eloquently revealed to create emotion and connection with the characters. Appreciated the author ending with a wrap up chapter of Jake “all grown up.”

A Winner!

A Winner – Broken is a romantic novel in which I was brought face to face with the realities of a tragic loss that is countered with the freshness of unexpected love.

Right from the start, the narrator connected me with Chloe – a genuine, heartbroken single mom who had to face the death of her husband way too early in life. She had always known his career assigned him to dangerous missions, but his death was so unexpected – so unfair and so final.

You could feel her struggle to become a hero in her own way. She recognized the need for more support in raising her teenage son. He was becoming a testy teen – not unexpected but challenging. Chloe took risks in moving to a new location, starting a new position, seeking out friends she could trust while still balancing frustrating flashbacks and the emotions of being alone.

On the other hand, a rugged man, Miles, enters her life. He too, has faced tragedy but what? His strong, gruff voice fits with his past career as a Navy Seal. Yet, he too has changed careers, has moved and trusts so few. You hear he is dealing with a major trauma but what is the cause?

He meets Chloe. There is an immediate chemistry between them and their relationship quickly moves to a sense of intimacy but why doesn’t he trust her with his past?

K.C.Enders has written a moving novel. The narrators, Solveig Nelson and Tom Haire bring their characters, emotions and passions to life. Well done!

A Captivating & Heartfelt Journey! Awesome Listen🎧

I loved everything about this book, from KC Enders’ wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who brought it all to life from the pages to my ears. The author put a lot of heart into this story and she wasted no time in grabbing not only my heartstrings but my attention too, captivating both the entire book. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are also easy to fall in love with. Chloe Triplett’s heart was torn out after the tragic loss of her husband, the love of her life, and father of her son Jacob. Six years later, she decided she was ready to start over with a new job and a new town, one closer to her family. Despite the new start and location, she was not able not leave her anxiety or PTSD behind. She suffered an attack in the most unlikely place, but a kind man helped her get back on her feet and to her car. But that would not be the last of her seeing that man. Miles Kent, former Navy Seal, helped the damsel in distress, She leaves an impression on him and when they meet again a special bond forms between them, he also forms a bond with her son Jacob too. OMG, Miles was amazing with Jacob, giving him the direction he needed to turn from a bratty teenager to a respectful young man. Everything is going well for the three until the past that haunts Miles throws his life into a loop and he can not shake his demons. This is not your average romance novel, it is a beautifully plotted story that contains plenty of drama, heartfelt and emotional moments, some angst, and a wonderful romance. KC Enders thank you for this amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Solveig Nelson and Tom Haire are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did an awesome job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow and tell who is who. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, they had a complete understanding of each role they played, sounding believable in that role and just as I pictured they would sound. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧
