Pucking Incredible Characters, Story & Narration🎧

S. Legend pens another winning novel set in her amazing “Heartbreak Hockey” series, and I just can not get enough of these fabulous characters, the witty banter, their storylines and the sizzling passion, on and off the ice. A rivals-to-lovers story between two opposing team members, Casey Alderchuck and Mitchell Sutter, two characters with loads of personality, and they sure met their match, each giving as good as they got. Alderchuck and Sutter get physical on the ice, mainly with their fists, and when both matched on the same dating app without either knowing it, they did not back down, figuring they could get their aggression towards one another out of their system once and for all. Except the chemistry between them is too strong, and as much as they try to deny it, they can not help but give in. I absolutely loved watching these two first fight the feeling, all while learning more about each other along the way, all while their relationship blossom in to something so much more, despite obstacles from outside sources. Both battle inner demons from their past, and I admired Sutter's astuteness with what Casey was hiding, also loved what he did for the kids and the signs Sutter’s dad sent his way. Casey has some adorable quirks, and his obsession with food was hilarious. It was great to see the characters from the earlier books, and you can not help but love the Meyers, Jack, Logan and even Rhett. S. Legend never disappoints, from her wonderful writing style to her multi-layered story that is entertaining and has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Legend and BNA, Oliver Highpoint and Sebastian York are a fantastic pairing, with voices that complement each other and an entertaining performance that captivates your attention and keeps you glued to the story. Both were naturals in their roles, embodying their characters’ personalities completely, with York bringing it as Sutter and Highpoint as Alderchuck, each nailing the witty dialogue, humor, and angst effortlessly. They were just as amazing performing the roles of the side and secondary characters too. Setting the ideal tone for the story, they conveyed all the characters’ emotions and their passion in their performance, making you feel them all. Their versatility and talent truly shine in their performance, a duet performance that takes the story to another level.

Breakneck Hockey is Book 3 in the Heartbreak Hockey series but can be read as a standalone. This is Casey and Sutter’s story and it’s both brutal and beautiful. There’s something about these tough hockey boys with their broken pasts that just want to be part of a found family and find love. (As an aside, there are times that I feel like these hockey teams/games are like “Grey’s Anatomy” for the sports world!) Casey and Sutter both have the death of a parent in their pasts, and it affected them differently. On the surface, this is an enemies to lovers book but it’s so much more than that. It’s brothers as best friends and best friends that become brothers. It’s brat taming and the strong, silent type falling hard in spite of himself. The heat is not sweet but it’s real and honest. It also has humor and the best meet the family scene ever. I listened to the audio production performed in duet by Sebastian York as Sutter and Oliver Highpoint as Casey. They each perform the tough but vulnerable hockey players flawlessly. This is a 5 star read with a 5 star performance and more spicy peppers than the scale allows.

Gritty MM Hockey Romance

There’s just something about a road trip and a great audiobook. Breakneck Hockey is book 3 in the heartbreak hockey series. This MM hockey romance is gritty, filled with painful pasts, found family, hurt/comfort, jealousy/possessiveness and lots of spice.
Mitchell Sutter and Casey Alderchuck are longtime hockey, rivals but when they are each other‘s hook up passions ignite. Sutter quickly becomes obsessed and possessive. He doesn’t want Alderchuck, but he doesn’t want anybody else to have him either. Both of them are hiding painful past and have their hearts on lockdown, but will they be able to resist the pull to each other that is definitely there?
The performances by Sebastian York and Oliver Highpoint were gritty and raw, perfect for this storyline.

Audiobook update: This rivals to lovers hockey book was wonderfully narrated by two very talented narrators: Sebastian York as Mitchell Sutter and Oliver Highpoint as Casey Alderchuck. Sebastian was amazing at portraying Sutter's over the top possessive vibes and growls, but also showed Sutter's softening towards Alderchuck. Oliver was sooooo hot with Alderchuck's whines during sexy times and also showed a fantastic range with him. This duet narration was everything - the banter, the spice, the emotions - so well done! I absolutely loved this audio and can't wait to listen again because I loved this story and how well Sebastian York and Oliver Highpoint brought it to life.

This is the 3rd book in Heartbreak Hockey series and in it we see hockey rivals Casey Alderchuck come together on the ice against Mitch Sutter. They're on opposing teams and they antagonize each other all throughout their hockey match, getting in each other's ways, and basically beating each other up. After such a contentious game, they are each ready to blow off on steam via a hookup on a hookup app. Unbeknownst to them, they match up and when they hook up, the embers from their fiery hockey game turn into a conflagration! But even from that very first hookup, we can see the start of them going soft for the other. There's a lot of laughs, banter, spice, and back and forth-ing on their route to their HEA and each step is uniquely Sutterchuck! I love how they come together - even their declarations are so them! This is a pretty long book, but the pacing isn't slow at all. I love being with during every step as Sutter learns what Alderchuck needs and Alderchuck discovers who Sutter really is. Woven around this are some little side stories, including the seed of Stacey's book, which is the one that comes next. I look forward to this next tale, but Sutterchuck is always going to have a special place in my heart - love them and I loved this book.

I read this book and LOVED it.. I saw Sebastian York and KNEW this audiobook was gonna SLAP! Highly recommend! Loved every second!! What a great duet!!! Fantastic!! They both hit it OUT of the park!

Push and pull romance

Breakneck Hockey was a steamy lust filled love story and I ate it up. Sebastian York and Oliver Highpoint knocked it out of the park as the narrators. I love Sutter and how he kept some of the best parts of himself a secret. And Casey just wants to have someone who loves him no matter what and will chase him if he runs. The story is great and I couldn’t help but fall in love Casey and Sutter and their relationship . But I will never look a ketchup the same way after this book!

Super hot & steamy!

Finally Sutterchuck comes alive!! The one we’ve been waiting on. The two men who can’t seem to ever agree on anything expect their love to fck & fight each other on the ice.

This isn’t your typical hockey mm romance let’s be honest. This is on the darker side but it’s not the darkest! It does have mentions of past parental dead’s & how they both affect each other’s lifestyle now. However, over time they both realize instead of a fling they are in love with each other and let somebody else come into the picture? They are gunna be showing their Dominance real quick.
