This book is the culmination of a project to translate wellbeing benefits from research, brain studies, and experiments on buddhist brain activity during practice into a practice suitable for all people.

Personally as someone already buddhist, I don’t think the book was suitable for me, as I already have practices which feel more integrated as a whole. I felt like the meditation sessions and structure makes sense for someone looking for secular benefit though. I have to admit I have been reading various books with different buddhist influences to expand my perspectice on methods and real life practice. In that regard, I’m deeply appreciative for their considerable work including this book to reduce the suffering of others in a diverse world.

The tone was too placating at times for me and not straight forward enough for my taste but maybe others prefer a soft reassuring tone. I felt like it could have benefited from summary sections as it sometimes moved too slow and the overall picture became a little blurry.

A hard-hitting summary section that brings back everything would probably do the book better justice. Tons of valuable material but somewhat spaced out in a way that might be hard to retain as a whole. I’d suggest taking notes if you want to get the full benefit as you go along and notice what affects you individually.

I myself, am clearly also not concise with words, but bravo on the excellent work.
