Publisher's Summary

Here's a job to strain even Anita Blake's capabilities: raising an entire graveyard of 200-year-old corpses.

When Branson, Missouri, is hit with a death wave - four unsolved murders - it doesn't take an expert to realize that all is not well. But luckily for the locals, Anita Blake is an expert in the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. And she's got an "in" with the creature that can make sense of the slayings - the sexy master vampire known as Jean-Claude.

Critic Reviews

"When Anita Blake's boss at Animators, Inc., informs her that she's expected to raise 300-year-old zombies from a field of jumbled bones just to settle a land dispute, she's understandably annoyed. But as soon as she arrives in Branson, Missouri, to do the deed, the job gets more interesting. A psychotic sword-wielding vampire starts committing multiple murders in the area, and Anita must call on Jean-Claude, her powerful fanged suitor, for help. As always, Anita prevails over the undead, keeping Jean-Claude at arm's length, clearing the cemetery land of an ancient enchantment, and nailing the vampiric killer in one fell swoop." I have and I will.

Which character – as performed by Kimberly Alexis – was your favorite?

The way she preforms Anita is the best. I love her voice.

Listened to this one for the fourth or fifth time

When it comes to the "Anita Blake-Vampire Hunter" series of books by Laurell K. Hamilton, follow this simple rule: THE FIRST NINE BOOKS ARE PURE GOLD IN BOTH NARRATION AND STORY. ALL THE REST ARE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, FILLED WITH VERY POORLY WRITTEN PORNOGRAPHY AND LOTS OF IT. ANITA BECOMES A WHORE BASICALLY , NEEDING TO HAVE SEX WITH MANY MEN, MANY TIMES PER DAY.
Laurell K. Hamilton completely destroys a great cast of characters, by using her own life sexual experimentations as a template for all the books after 9 or 10.

I AM THE DUMB A_ _ WHO PURCHASED THE REST OF THE BOOKS TO SEE IF THEY WOULD GET BETTER.....................THEY DON'T.

My favorite Anita Blake book

Bloody bones is my favorite Anita Blake book because it incorporates both her personal life and professional life. Some of the later books I feel have been too focused on her personal life and have been greatly lacking in The mystery aspect of her professional life. The best part about Anita Blake is that you get a great "who-dun-it"as well as an awesome sexy romantic supernatural story. Bloody Bones provides both of those, it's a great edge of your seat thriller with the mystery wrapped in. Then you get the really erotic sexiness of her desire and the hesitation she has about crossing over into the monster's world.

Couldn't stop listening

If you could sum up Bloody Bones in three words, what would they be?

This is another one of the great Vampire Books out there by Laurel Hamilton. I couldn't stop listening to it but couldn't do it all at one time. A must read.

What does Kimberly Alexis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The depth of each person in the book. Kimberly gave it that extra punch.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and yes and yes and yes!!

My favorite Anita Blake so far!

LOTS of action and edge of your seat suspense. I loved Anita in this one, and her sidekick too. The love interests in the storyline have good spark. The narration was excellent with all characters, with the exception of Jean Claude. His voice seemed a bit too high and his accent was off. 4 1/2 stars for story and narration.
