If I wasn't already your number one fan Rina, I sure would be after this thrilling, spectacular trilogy. Its characters.. it’s suspense.. its secrets.. its shivers.. it’s dysfunctional family.. its intense chemistry.. it’s possessive obsessed hero.. it’s strong heroine.. it’s danger.. and it’s twists had me binge-listening till the end. Oh, and the sharp, playful, hurtful, loving banter between Kirill and Sasha was priceless and precious and I was one hundred percent lost in their manoeuvres, their emotions and their bitter-sweet love. Plus, the dual duet-style multi-dialect narration by Sebastian and Brooke brought ALL the rollercoaster feels.. ALL the sizzles and heat.. ALL the connection and intensity.. ALL the chills and thrills.. and ALL the love and twisted passion between Kirill and Sasha to life.

Worth a credit? Boy, I’m so thankful that I impatiently waited for the release of all three books in the trilogy before starting because, after each jaw-drop cliffhanger ending, I manically went straight into the next book. And yes, three credits very well spent.

Sebastian York - just no!

please stop picking SY as a voice for young folks. it just sounds ridiculous. I teach college students and grad students - in hundreds - I have never heard a 20 something guy having 60 something voice. I don't understand this whole S York hype. He's one of my least favorite narrators, nowhere near J Clarke or Zach Webber. Brooke D is OK but overall both are just reading- no decent performance. I'll suffer through the whole series simply because I got invested in the plot and I can't afford time just to reading so I pick audiobooks, but I won't give this series the stars it deserves, simply because of the narration. And there are so many new male narrators that I have listened to once or twice who are way better than SY. Rina Kent: please consider someone else - I have already skipped many of your books bc SY narrates them. Pity because I love your work.

One thing I really loved was the action scene(s), they actually really were heart pumping and felt like you were there witnessing the events. It really centered my focus as I read. That was pretty cool.
But when I finally got to the first action scene in Audio, it was a amazing, cause the audio enhances your mental image of the scene(s).
What a freaking great read, you’re one edge the entire time and the narrators as well were Fantastic!

I already knew this couple from the other books, it's obvious that I was very curious about them,
but when rina announced it i wasn't so excited as i really wanted the continuation of LEGACYS OF GODS.

But today I see how much I needed to meet this couple that has already entered my heart.
what amazing characters they are everything

Sasha, her story, her personality, her strength, I did cry with her. I'm in love with her and every moment of her, her fragility and strength, how she's determined and fights for the ones she loves, even the way she's helping Kirill's family and how she's very protective of him.

Kirill my god what a man what a man i have no words to write he is imperfect the way i love.

A fact about me I hate when there is a lot of fluff in the book but with this book I just wanted to know more and more about him knowing his plans and I still need more and I'm glad it's a trilogy.

I listened to the audio book and followed through the book and my god it's a work of art sebastian and brooke's work.

I felt like I was in a movie, in fact I feel that in the future this book can become a movie, because the story is incredible.
I liked that they didn't fall in love on the first date.

The story is amazing and I loved the mystery and I'm dying to find out

the narrators did a terrible job

if you listen to the book in 2× it's not that bad. I hate the way Brooke and SY call kirill (Key-Real). It's terrible. they really do this story a disservice. Brooke should just give up narrating. her reading is choppy and awkward. she puts inflections on the wrong words. SY sounds bored, and he has the absolute worst Russian and English accents. ugh. idk how anyone would give the performance 5 stars. even the story is subpar when held up beside the other books in this mafia universe.

I absolutely love this world Rina Kent has made, and all the characters within it. This story has such great build up and the narration only added to that. But I need book 2…because they ending has me needing to see what comes next. 4.5/story 4.5/performance 4.5/overall. CW/18+ dark mafia romance

Mafia trilogy

I’m a huge Sebastian York fan & I was stoked he was narrating this audio. This was also my first Rina Kent book & I was desperate for some deep, dark mafia action.

I know this is a trilogy and there is certain groundwork that needs to be laid, but it took me a bit to get drawn into this story. There’s a revenge subplot which I’m a sucker for, but I just wanted more drama & action right off the bat.

And as much as I love Sebastian, I’m not sure he was the best choice for this narration. I was expecting someone a bit more gruff & raw to voice Kirill.

Overall this was an enjoyable listen and I will definitely read more from this author. Thank you Valentine PR for my gifted review copy.

I loved getting to know their story. I'm in love with both of them! But Rina! How do you end a book that way?!

Perfect voices

First book in the trilogy was at perfect pace, the emotion, the slow burn, taking into consideration the story. Rina Kent and slow burn, perfect for this book! And the voices, I mean I listen to anything from Sebastian York and he delivered here perfectly, amazing Russian accent👌🏻. New to Brooke Daniels and her interpretation of the female voices was perfect. Both as duet delivered the story perfectly👌🏻… now the cliffhanger phew

I'm obsessed!

This story had a hold on me and I didn’t realize when I had finished the audiobook because I was so immersed in it! This book was intense, captivating, and I loved the chemistry between this couple! I can’t wait to read/listen to the other books in this series!

Amazing!

It’s Kirill and Sasha story and I freaking loved it!



I devoured this audiobook in one sitting. I turned it on and got so lost in the story that I didn't realise hours had passed when it ended... But that's normal when it comes to Rina Kents' books.. her words just pull me in and I lose myself in the story! I absolutely loved these two so much! Their story, the twists and turns along the way and how the author pieced it all together was perfection! I think they'd become my favourite couple written by this author!

This book was intense, addictive, all-consuming and such an excellent listen!

what a start to the series

I absolutely love Rina Kents' books, and this one was phenomenal. I love the story it was very original and had me hooked from the very beginning. karill and Sacha were absolute fire, the chemistry between them was off the charts, and it wouldn't be a Rina Kent book if the MMC wasn't a bit of an A-hole!! I am so obsessed with this world and cant get enough of the characters. I will be jumping straight into book 2 without delay.

The audio narrators are absolutely fantastic for this book, I love them!

Dark retelling

Ending on a cliffy, Blood of My Monster, by Rina Kent, is a Mulan retelling. Cpt. Kirill saves Aleksander/Sasha when the men in the unit gang up on her. The captain can tell Aleksander is a woman but remains quiet, though he questions how the others don't know. Aleksander is determined to learn and gain strength by being mentored by Cpt. Kirill, only he sees her as weak and not worthy of his time.

Aleksander, disguised as a man, has joined the military to uncover the people responsible for the slaughter of her family. Kirill has grown up under the iron fist of a military father and rules his life and men like a machine.

It took me a bit, but I found the stories suspense, our MC's back stories, and the growing relationship between Cptn. Kirill and Sasha (Aleksander) to be quite enjoyable. Kirill had some great character growth. Initially, he's no-nonsense and rules with an iron fist, but as he spends more time with Sasha, who though naive, is determined to be the best. She brings much warmth to Kirill's chilly exterior.

Kirill and Sasha!

Blood of My Monster by Rina Kent was such a dark wild ride and I devoured it all.
I first want to applaud Rina for writing Kirill with such respect that he used Sasha preferred pronouns when addressing Sasha with no disgust. Being a Russian Mafia storyline I was expecting it to be a little less progressive - was surprised to say the least.

I was intrigued with where Rina was taking this relationship between Sasha and Kirill and I must say I was a little disappointed with Kirill “knowing” immediately. I personally wanted a little more of him questioning his sexuality due to being attracted to who he thought was a man.

Even with Kirill being this rough military captain turn Russian mob leader he shows great care for Sasha many times through this book. There were a few times he could have either left her for dead or outted her gender to protect himself and he chose Sasha’s safety.

(I use the she/her pronouns because we has the readers know that Sasha pronouns are she/her unless she’s in uniform)

Sashas character blew me away. Sasha, who is strong, determined and motivated to find those responsible for killing her family, joins the military disguised as a man to seek revenge for her loved ones. Getting pushed around at every corner for being small and looked at as weak several times in the story she continues to push through and prove to everyone she’s got what it takes.

Brooke Daniels and Sebastian York narrate this book, I’m usually not a fan of Sebastian York but he pairs very well with Brooke Daniels (who I adore) in this duet narration.

This book does end in a cliffhanger - be ready because I was not!

The audiobook has fantastic narrators and I love the duet narration.

The story ends with a cliffhanger- one where you wanna shout: why Rina, why? You can't stop here!!!

A Dark Mafia Romance!

This is the first book in the Monster Trilogy, a Dark Mafia Romance. This series is interconnected with the Deception Trilogy (Adrian Volkov and Winter's story), and the Throne Duet (Rai Sokolov and Kyle Hunter's story). Kirill and Sasha's story is captivating! The world building is original, and enthralling. The story ends with a big cliffhanger. Sebastian York and Brooke Daniels did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Lies of My Monster, the next book in the trilogy, to know what happens next.
