If you could sum up True Crime Addict in three words, what would they be?

I really enjoyed this and liked the personal touch, you get to know James and dispute all his faults (which don't we all have) I grew to like him and I hope despite what he says in the book that this is not his last.
Full of interesting facts not only pertaining to this case but investigating in general and other cases he has dealt with.

Really good

Took a chance on this one. I listen to a lot of true crime books but this one was different. I personally loved all of the added insight about the author and his motives to investigate this case. A fascinating mystery to say the least.

True crime addict addict

I've never been more excited to listen to an audiobook, once I started this one I didn't want to stop. Love how it's mainly about Maura but it also Renner talks about him and how it effected his life. He got super into the case and I can't say I blame him. I didn't really see the hype on this case before I listened to this and now, I'm hooked.

Super honest and super entertaining. Great listen...thoughtful and entertaining. If you are interested in the Murray case this is a must have.

POWERFUL!

The way Mr. Renner weaves the tale of so many intertwined people, places, and events is riveting. The author narration and autobiographical details throughout the book is impactful on so many levels. I felt like I was listening to a friend tell a story that I never wanted to end. I read/listen to a lot of books. I never write reviews. This story and the way the story was told will stay with me forever!

Not a fan of the Author

I am from Marengo. I am aware of the Roushes, though I don't think I've ever interacted with them. James Renner's treatment of Maura's story and defamation of the Roushes is deplorable. I appreciate the investigation he has done, but I simply can't believe in a world where everything is a conspiracy and every inconsistency is a dark mark on someone's soul. Furthermore, his northern accent pronunciation of "Morrow county" and "Marengo" drive me nuts.

Mr. Renner, please, if you're going to go with your crazy crackpot theories and narcissistic rambling, stick to your blog. I wanted to read about the investigation into Maura Murray's disappearance, not about you sitting in county for 6 days.

great book for True Crime fans.

I am so glad I "read" this book. I'm a Huge Fan of True Crime Garage and James Renner has been on their podcast or mentioned a lot. But...I thought I really knew all there was to know about the Maura Murray case but that wasn't the case at all. It was so good,, I'm bummed that I finished. There are so many interesting ideas out there..Oh, and I love how the author is forthcoming about his personal life. He feels like a pal.

Listened in one night

This was my favorite Audible purchase ever. I started listening after work in Friday night. It is now 2am on Saturday morning. I have never listened to a book straight thru until now. But this was fascinating and impossible to turn off. The author's personal story was as interesting if not more so than the Maura Murray case itself. Do yourself a favor she's listen to this story. You won't regret it. My only regret is that it's over.
