She was a shining savior on a warhorse, waving her white banner and calling her soldiers forth to victory; but she was also painfully and intensely human, a young girl who wept and bled just the same as the rest of us. Short history of Alexander
The book focuses on his relationship with his father, Filip and the campaign against Darius of Persia.
It's în no way a comprehensive personal history of Alexander. More like a side reading or a complementary one.
