A charming slow-burn romantasy featuring a duty-bound noblewoman with a chronic illness, a prince who would rather be in a library than on a throne, and a magical ride through a world of cozy enchantment

Bianca knows her duty comes before her heart. So when the threat of war looms, she agrees to marry the neighboring kingdom’s heir. But not all royal weddings are a fairytale, and Prince Aric, Bianca’s betrothed, is cold, aloof, and seems to hate her on sight.

To make matters worse, on their wedding night, an assassination attempt goes awry—leaving Aric magically transformed into a horse. Bianca does what any bride in this situation would do: she mounts her new husband and rides away to safety.

Sunset returns Aric to human form, but they soon discover the assassination attempt is part of a larger plot against the throne. Worse, Bianca has been framed for Aric’s murder, and she’s now saddled with a husband who is a horse by day and a frustratingly attractive man by night.

As an unexpected romance begins galloping away with their hearts, Bianca and Aric must rely on each other to unravel the curse and save the throne.

This book was so unique! It was like a breath of fresh air. It was funny, wholesome, and the characters were all very believable and lovable. It has a similar vibe to Assistant to the Villain, which is also one of my favorite series. I purchased a hard copy of this book too, so it will definitely be a repeat listen/read for me. 🩷

Loved it! So cute!

There is notable spice in the book. If that bothers you now you know.
I very much enjoyed this story. It has excellent lgbtq+ representation and excellent depiction of family issues. There was a delightful amount of humor. The narrator did a great job having distinct voices for characters. I would enjoy seeing more stories set in this world and hope to see more from this author. If you enjoy fantasy settings, good humor, and realistic family issues then I recommend picking this up.

Good but spicy

I love this story because I’m a fan of magical and wholesome romance. So much to say about this but I really don’t want to give away anything haha. Just know it’s really cute and the narrator made the whole audiobook experience better! Like I don’t even know how I would’ve read it or play it in my head if I just read the book myself but the narrator made it so much better.

Very different is what I would say first lol but amazing and magical nonetheless.

Too much spice for me, but other than that it was excellent! I really enjoyed it.

Cute story, great narration

A cute, short and cozy fantasy. The narration was easy to listen to, I would have enjoyed it more if it was a dual narration though.

I would say this is a cute romance book in a fantasy setting. There is limited world building and some character development for both the FMC and MMC.

This is a good standalone but nothing life changing. Was a quick, and easy listen.

My husband is a horse now?
