Publisher's summary

While renowned designer Margaux Sullivan was presenting her highly praised collection during New York City's Fashion Week, her husband was cleaning out their bank account. A week after he disappeared, the bank foreclosed on Margaux's apartment and business.

Suddenly broke, betrayed, and humiliated, Margaux has nowhere else to turn to but home: the small coastal town of Crescent Cove, Connecticut, where she once knew love, joy, and family before she put them behind her on the climb to fame. When she's stopped for speeding by local interim police chief Nick Prescott, Margaux barely remembers the "townie" boy who worshipped her from afar every summer. But Nick is all grown up now, a college professor who gave up his career to care for his orphaned nephew, Connor. Though still vulnerable, Margaux is soon rediscovering the beauty of the shore through young Connor's eyes...and, thanks to Nick, finding a forgotten place in her heart that wants to love again.

But as she continues to work on a bold new line that will get her back into the game, Margaux realizes that soon she will have to make the most important, most difficult decision of her life....

Wonderful!

What a wonderful story! I listen as I drive for work in the car and sometimes wanted to drive further because I didn't want to stop for the day.

Really predictable

A real weak book. No excitement. No twists or turns. Pretty predictable. Nick was a jerk. Didn’t care for the characters at all.

Lovely read

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed listening to this book. I've been struggling lately to find books that keep my attention (side effect of listening to a lot of books) but I finished this one in a day. Worth the credit.

So good!

My first Shelly Noble novel. I loved it. Cute story. Kept me interested and I loved that it was narrated by Erin Bennett. I will definitely read/listen to more Shelley Noble books.

Creepy slow motion horror story

Basically a slow motion horror as the reader witnesses a woman descend from one emotionally abusive relationship to another. The protagonist is manipulated by everyone around her into a co-defendant relationship with a controlling, emotionally stunted, rage filled bully and the creepy, inappropriately needy child he “cares@ for.

The man is afraid of everything, the main character is a bit of a dummy, so they deserve each other on some level.

Still, it’s hard to read about a woman being punished emotionally by pretty much everyone in her life, for wanting to have a career and live in NYC.

Sad, creepy and also kind of hilariously bad.

I don’t know why I wasted my time- it was like watching a car crash. I couldn’t turn away 😂

Shelly writes another great story

Beach colors is a great book with a cast of characters that are interesting and well narrated. Enjoyed the story and the life changing choices made by the main character.

Shades of Life

As an art teacher, I throughly enjoyed the descriptions of all the magnificent colors that we see at the beach day or night. It just seemed like every character was broken, with the exception of Grace. I felt sadness and emptiness from them. Even the weather was stormy, cloudy, or chilly and it was summer! Even the happiness seemed fragile.
