"Quick question: do you think a judge would let me off for murder if I tell him that it was the health inspector who has a vendetta against me?"

It's a question Lucas never thought he'd have to ask when he became the owner of a food truck. And that pisses him off more considering he has enough in his life to deal with.

He's blind.

He's a virgin.

And the people he keeps falling for never seem to want him back.

So when this grumpy shell of a man has made it his mission to make Lucas's life miserable, Lucas intends to fight back.

With his words. Mean ones. Ones that might make a grown man cry.

Unfortunately, there's more to Frankie's story than Lucas realizes, and the more he gets to know this complicated single dad, the more he starts to feel the familiar stirrings of an impossible crush.

Frankie is almost twice his age, his life is a chaotic mess, and Lucas isn't exactly relationship material. But the longer they stay in each other's orbit, the more Lucas realizes that this could be it. And soon enough he decides he's not going to stop until he's gotten his hard earned happily ever after.

Winning You is the seventh book in the single dad Words We Never Said series. It's an enemies to lovers, age gap romance featuring a brow-beaten, exhausted single caregiver who wants nothing more than to find some peace, a nerdy, mouthy, autistic chef who wants to be loved the way he's capable of loving, heaps of unsolicited advice, first times, bad dates that turn into very good dates, and a steamy, swoony happily ever after.

This is such an amazing book. I know Gage is going to get his story, but this one was needed. Love this series!

The things I enjoy most about EM Lindsey’s books are how they use their platform to highlight differently abled people and how they aren’t afraid to share things to help others realize challenges they may not be aware of. In this series, there are several characters who have had to adapt to life in a different way than most because of things like amputation, deafness, blindness, and other challenges. In this book specifically, Lucas is blind and has autism, while Frankie is raising a child with cerebral palsy and CVI. There’s also a pretty significant age gap between the MCs, but I don’t think it has much bearing on the storyline except for how other characters react. I was looking forward to Lucas’s story as soon as it was announced. Between him and his best friend, Gage, I was really hoping we’d get their stories. Gage did have a part in this book, which deals with a little of his trauma, and it sets up for his book nicely, and includes meeting Frankie’s brother Fallon, who is Gage’s love interest for his book. Winning You is parts fun, somber, traumatic and romantic. I would consider this medium angst in a few spots, but mainly low angst. The only thing I didn’t like was that the ending seemed pretty abrupt and we didn’t get much information about Gage; I know it’s setting up for his book, but I felt a little let down by the ending because of all the open-endedness of it. All that said, I highly recommend this series and I think everyone should choose the audio version because Kirt Graves just elevates all the books with his narration. Now I’m going to impatiently wait for the final book to release in audio.
