I like this series ....but

The justifications given by the author for why the MC makes certain decisions and takes certain actions are insulting. Dumb, dumb, dummy, dumb, dumb. Treats the audience like we're all a bunch of simpletons. Pathetically weak. Ruins the experience. Booooooo!!!!!!
I like the character, I like the world-building, I like the magic system, n I like the over-arching storyline. But the execution here, the actual delivery ...is also actually pretty good in general.

But maaaaaaaaan ..,there are moments in this story where the author is unforgivably lazy. Just to move the story along and get to the plot points he actually wanted to talk about he does a bunch of hand waving BS. He does it a couple times in earlier books too, but this time was too egregious.
Booooooooooooooo!!!!

I'm booing a story i like, but it is warranted.

I love where the series is going and there are so many avenues that could be explored in later books.
