love the story

I was today years old when it clicked in my head. This earth is under the fae system. the very fae system in the welcome to the multiverse series!!! Tad! I'm loving how the story is starting to converge. the mobile living dungeon! man

love this one. lots of mystery and action. lots of characters but not confusing. always hopes of love.speaks of Freedom and solidarity.

Slow start, but decent payoff

This series is kind of a supporting character, in my mind. Welcome to the Multiverse is more engaging and entertaining, but this is a good way to spend some listening time, especially if you are caught up on all the best series. This series is not S-Tier, but it's okay. It could use some more depth, interesting content, tension, etc.

Good by Low Standards

This just feels too episodic, where one event after another follows each other without a solid sense of continuity and with no sense whatsoever that everything matters. As a series, this feels weak, and as a book it feels weaker. Perhaps I'm holding this to too high a standard expecting it to be of the caliber of Malazan Book of the Fallen, Battlemage Farmer, Unintended Cultivator, Lawrence Block books, System Universe, Chrysalis, Reborn a Demonic Tree and so many countless books which enrich me for having read or heard them. But Magic Eater feels too unsophisticated. In Magic Eater, nothing and nobody matters. This book feels more like a gimmick or a concept rather than deep characters and world.

I am not moved. Is this a bad book? No, but it's not really worth my time either. I will not pursue more books in this series.

Overall plot makes no sense

Trying to not do any spoilers so this won’t make sense to those who haven’t read/listened to it, but… the plot makes no dam sense. The big baddy HATES the very thing that gave him everything and somehow won a war against them? Without them, you would and will have nothing yet he won? and continues to try and kill them?? Makes no sense.
