this is one of the best self help books that I have read/listened to in a very long time! I loved the chapter which stressed the importance of performing mindful breathing and 478 breathing styles. I learned that it is very important to perform 4 cycles of breathing every day which working a highly stressful job as a doctor every day and I can definitely incorporate that into my daily routine. It was also interesting to note that chronic stress will lead to negative thinking which me and my boyfriend argue about on a frequent basis since hes more the positive patty and im negative nancy. I love that the book also incorporated accurate scientific explanations of cardiac coherence and the importance of daily regulation of the parasympathetic nervous system. the main takeaway here is that the way and the environment in which we are raised affects our overall behavioral development and adult behavior. so to become a better person overall we must prioritize our inner child healing journey first and foremost.

I have the physical copy of this book and I loved it! This audiobook version is just as good too! The best part is I could listen to it while doing chores, something I could not do with the physical copy. I really like the discussions about inner child healing in this book. They are easy to understand, the pacing is just right and it includes a lot of interactive activities. I especially like the journaling prompts.
