Being a nanny for a newly single dad wasn’t the job I applied for when I decided to lick my wounds in Blossom Peak.

But showing Henley Clark my bare backside wasn’t in my plans either.

When the pursuit of my dream career seemed unattainable, instead of going home and proving my parents right, I made a detour to the small mountain town I remember visiting as a kid.

I just wanted a waitressing job to make some extra money while I figured out my next steps.

But then the lumberjack of an owner begged me to help him with his three month-old daughter that he just found out existed, and I couldn’t resist his plea.

Or his massive physique—the one I saw every detail of when he appeared shirtless in front of me three times in the first week.

The problem with living together though is there’s little space, especially when my boss is so closed off that he’s like a nut I want to crack open.

And when I do, he steals the breath from my lungs—and reignites my creativity as well.

But I gave myself a deadline to figure out what’s next.

Nowhere in that plan though did I account for falling for Henley Clark.

Turns out the heart doesn’t care, even when you’re on borrowed time.

Excellent narration, beautiful story, loved the overall theme of realizing that everyone deserves love whether or not they believe it or not. Actions speak louder than words and showing up for someone means more than any words. Found family!

Beautiful story

Henley and Elodie were a super cute couple. I enjoyed reading the book. I did feel like there was a little something missing. I don’t know if it was a lack of drama. But other than that, the story was very sweet and I really enjoyed reading it. The spice was great. It was a wonderful lighthearted read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Read this if you want a little bit of everything. It has such a great balance of light-hearted moments with some important deeper conversations and growth.

I would advise reading book 1 first - not that this one doesn't stand alone, but it's amazing and it will set you up for the premise of this book when Henley finds out he's a dad. It's also fun to revisit a favorite set of characters and the setting of Blossom Peak.

I love a good meet cute and honestly it's been a while since I read one so I was thrilled with this one. I just loved the beginning of this story so much. The shock of being a new dad and reading all about that was so fun. Crais and Edwin really brought this scene to life. it was perfectly narrated

I also absolutely love novels with forced proximity. They always have so many good semi-dressed encounters but this one also has some super sweet moments they catch each other in that are really swoon worthy.

The character growth in this one was good too. I like how he worked hard to be a good dad and to learn what love means. I also loved watching Elodie as she made professional decisions. I love mature characters and these two definitely were.

I could gush about this book all day. I highly recommend this whole series! And Crais is quickly becoming my new favorite male narrator.

I received an advanced listener copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

When Henley ends up as a single dad, basically overnight, he's in dire need of help. When Elodie tries to interview for a position as his ski lodge, he ends up hiring her as his nanny instead. Elodie is only planning on staying a few months so they both know there is an expiration date. But eventually, forced proximity works it's magic and they can't stay away from each other. Henley had a lot of baggage to work through due to his upbringing but I loved seeing him figure it all out. He bonded so easily with Remy and between them and Elodie, they made the sweetest little family.

I loved the relationship that Henley has with his sister. And I love that his friends aren't afraid to call him out on his crap! The banter all throughout it was fantastic. I'm really enjoying this series and can't wait for more.

This was a duet narration by Connor Crais & Vanessa Edwin. I swear, these two are at the top of my favorite narrator pairings. Connor was perfect for the grumpy single dad and Vanessa really shined as Elodie. I loved it.
