Rebellion

The Reverence Trilogy, Book 2

By: Raena Rood

Narrated by: Brittany Goodwin

Kira always knew that her future in Vita Nova was predetermined: a mandatory death at age sixty, just like every other citizen. But when she falls in love with Will Foster, one of the city's revered Volunteers, and risks everything to escape the city's iron grip, she begins to believe that a different life might be within reach.

With Will and young Teddy by her side, Kira ventures into the Unregulated Zone, desperate to find other survivors and a place free from Vita Nova’s oppressive rule—a place where freedom still exists.

Their journey brings them to Haven, a secluded community hidden deep in the Pennsylvania woods, led by the enigmatic Ghost. But Haven holds many secrets—secrets that could shatter Kira's fragile hopes for the future and threaten the tenuous bond she’s forged with Will.

When a brutal attack shatters the fragile peace she's found, Kira is forced into a deadly confrontation. Torn between protecting the people she loves and securing her own future, Kira must confront the true meaning of sacrifice—or risk becoming another victim of Vita Nova’s cruel justice.

So good!

This book was better than the first, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love the dystopian theme, with the Christian worldview. When is book three coming out??? Excellent job, Raena! Keep them coming!!

Great listen!

I really enjoyed this book! I can’t wait for the next one. It was better than the first, but the first was still good. Great job!

Never a dull moment

This series so far has been amazing! I’ve listened to 2 books in just 3 days. I can’t wait to start the next!

Plot drags a bit

Least favorite of the trilogy found myself wishing I could urge some some of the plot along, needed for the story to be complete, but some aspects could’ve been cleaner and allowed for more character development rather than trying to make something dramatic that was very obvious

the will to keep on

I have read the first book in the series, of course when the author reached for former people that read her former books I jumped at the opportunity, this was a story that stayed with me since I last read the first book, Kira is such a strong woman, she is learning about faith and even growing in her feeling for will... we learn many things about the past, and I even dislike her father even more, but I will leave that for you to find out and for me to know.

I love how this book brings faith to an impossible scenery, how would we react in such a world... would we surrender to the city where people surrender their life’s for the city or would we try to find a way out?
The only thing not so positive is that the book really ends in a cliff hanger, and I wont explain why or how it goes on, you'll need to see for yourself..

I got the privilege to listen to the audiobook, and the person reading, Brittany Goodwin did a great job, and I can only praise her and say, sign me in in the next one ^___^ she was an amazing Kira and brought this book to life in a very good manner.

I got a free audible code from the author and this is my honest opinion.
