Promptly fleeing destiny, Terry finds himself dodging noble plots, avoiding a vengeful church, and being stalked by a monster with the heart of a coward and the stomach of a glutton. But he has an edge. While sometimes the victim of xianxia, manga, and anime tropes, he also sees them for what they are. The only question is, can he manipulate them well enough to survive and keep from getting sucked into a war he wants no part of?

EXCELLENT!

I'll keep it short. This is a story. It's fun and is able to talk about anime tropes in a way that doesn't get boring or lame. MC is funny and relatable. Some of his decisions I'm like "yeah I would do the same."

Excellent job to the author for making a story talking about well known tropes and doing it in away that is entertaining and original. Waiting for the next book.

Funny and went by in a flash

A fun listen that ended way to soon my only complaint is that the MC is way to paranoid and combative agenst his situation.

The hero is a bit of a whiner who doesn't listen to his other side, and gets into trouble because of his stubbornness.

Do not listen to this book at work !!

I picked this book up on a whim, I just wanted something to read while I wait for my next pre-order, color me surprised when it had be bursting out with laughter at work. It was a good palette cleanser (I listen to 4-5 books per week and have over 1700 books in my library, yes I am keeping audible in business) that makes fun of isekai tropes. I will definitely be pre-ordering the second book if and when it comes to audible.

Amazing!

What a outstanding take on the isekai genre! Finally someone tells it from a realistic perspective for once! Love how the author was able craft a MC that we as the reader would truly say “Yup I would have done the same thing!” Truly is worth your time if you are tired of the same old things happening in Isekai books.
