.

My name is Imogen Demotta, and everything I thought I knew was a lie.

I thought Lincoln Knight was my savior. My tortured hero—hiding from the world behind a mask. The man I fell in love with. He opened my eyes to the world and encouraged me to find my true self, unleashing my deepest, most forbidden desires.

He was my knight, and I was his queen.

Then I learned his darkest secret, and everything changed.

He might have removed his mask but he never let me see who he was beneath it.

Now I’m back in the care of my grandfather and the woman who raised me, Larissa. I should feel safe and relieved. Instead, I’m more confused and afraid than ever.

They tell me that Lincoln isn’t what he seems. That he was the reason my parents were killed. They want me to help take Lincoln down in service of the Brotherhood I despise.
But even if I don’t trust Lincoln, I cannot believe he would be capable of such cruelty.

My eyes are open now. I may not know the truth, but I do know everyone around me is lying.

I need to uncover the truth before it’s too late, and that means finding my way back to Lincoln. Because he’s the key to all of this.

The key to my freedom.

Perfect for readers who love:
  • Scorching hot spice
  • Masked men
  • Morally grey alpha heroes
  • Determined heroines
  • Gothic vibes
  • Fiery slow burns
  • Beauty and the Beast, Jane Eyre, and Wuthering Heights inspo

Just like the Auction, I finished The Game in less than 24 hours! DO. THE. AUDIO!😍 Grayson Owens is one of my favorite audiobook narrators and he brought swoony, dark and grumpy with his amazing funny and goofy side that we all love to see!

Not only did my day start with DMing back and forth with Sadie Kincaid, but it ended with one of my friends meeting her and getting a copy of this book signed to me (insert fan girl screams!) Anyways, back to the book…😆

Lincoln and Imogen’s love is extremely hard won and this delivered all of that and more! I don’t want to give spoilers since this is a brand new release, but those twists the last 1/4 of the book - GOOD LAWD! I was screaming! I was texting my friend Nicky crashing out, I was scared, excited, nervous, relieved…. all of the emotions! I am so so so happy that HEA happened and frankly, now I’m begging for a crossover Chicago novella! 😍 It would be SO good! The QUEEN of dark romance has outdone herself and I cannot wait to see what she writes next!

No butter was harmed in the making of this book.😆

YYYYYASSSSSS! SADIE!!!!!!

I swear, this woman could write just about anything and I’d eat it up, but when she’s in her dark mafia romance bag? UNTOUCHABLE.

I was already completely invested in Imogen and Lincoln after the first book, but THIS? The emotional turmoil, the secrets, the betrayals, the obsession, the tension! Sadie had me questioning everyone’s motives and hanging onto every single revelation.

What I loved most was Imogen’s growth. Watching her go from someone who had been sheltered and manipulated for so much of her life to a woman determined to uncover the truth and make her own decisions was EVERYTHING. And Lincoln? That beautifully tortured, morally gray man had me in a chokehold. His devotion, his vulnerability beneath all those layers, and the way these two challenged each other emotionally made their relationship so much more than just their undeniable chemistry.

And can we talk about the storytelling?! The way Sadie weaves together suspense, family secrets, betrayal, and romance is so incredibly addictive. I loved that the emotional stakes were just as intense as the danger surrounding them. The twists kept me guessing, the tension was delicious, and the romance was equal parts devastating and consuming. That gothic atmosphere and the Beauty and the Beast influences were just the cherry on top.

Now, THE AUDIOBOOK! Grayson Owens and June deBorahae absolutely understood the assignment. The duet narration brought another level of intensity to an already emotionally charged story. The tension, desperation, vulnerability, and chemistry came through so beautifully in their performances. I was completely immersed, and those heavier emotional moments hit even harder because of it.

This is exactly why Sadie remains one of my forever favorite dark romance authors. She doesn’t just give us morally gray men and scorching chemistry. She gives us complicated characters, emotional depth, and love stories that make you feel absolutely EVERYTHING.

Obsessed doesn’t even begin to cover it. Imogen and Lincoln have my whole heart, and this duet reminded me all over again why I love Sadie’s storytelling so damn much. An absolute five-star experience, especially on audio!

SADIE KINCAID, THE WOMAN THAT YOU ARE!!!

Let’s talk about Sadie Kincaid.

What have you noticed differently from these books compared to her previous books?

I feel Sadie brought the reader to an emotionally investment, psychologically challenged and captivating a page turning journey.

*the spice is still there but her development of capturing her readers heart and emotions in more detail to the story ((the build up))

*the slow but steady unraveling of the truth, the revelation of understanding and having the reader start to piece together the twisted truths

-A deeper psychological level in characters:

*the emotional bond that shapes each individual character

*the internal tensions dealing with truths, manipulation and trauma

*after years of mind control and structure it causes distortion of self belief and knowing what you desire

*this makes the reader also question in their own mind what is the “real” story

This story has sensitive subjects. Some readers may be offended but if you have an open mind; things will piece together.

I won’t lie to you. I WANTED to throw my phone a few times!!

But, I was emotionally exhausted and invested.

What would I like to see more from this duet story?

Maybe a novella about Edgar. I think he has a story worthy to share.

His emotional depth and his haunting strength to battle against the evil forces who lack the respect of a woman’s body and mind.

Can’t wait to see what is NEXT for Sadie to write!

The Narration was fabulous! The chemistry was outstanding!

Every whispered word, subtle change in tone, breathless pause, and emotionally charged moment brought the characters to life. The narrators didn’t simply tell the story; they became the characters, capturing their vulnerability, longing, desire, and raw emotions.

Worth the credit or every single penny! But, read The Auction first……
