Big, Lovable Killer & His Boy Filled with Revenge!

After scouring through Merikan's latest audiobooks, I saw this one and wanted to give it a listen! Glad that I did since Dornet & Russo did an amazing job of bringing the MCs to life and making the narration engaging! Not to mention sexy voices to keep me hooked! Some parts of the story I enjoyed, while others I feel were not as dark/bloody as seen in Merikan's other books. Bit more fluff for my taste, but still had a great time with the audio! Recommend giving this a listen for both the lovely narration and if you enjoy a lighter dark Christmas/Xmas themed story!

Murder Boyfriends

This is a dark romance about a poor kid who just wants revenge and the murderer who gives it to him. There are some truly heart-warming Christmas moments sprinkled amongst the murder, and boy are those murders deserved. There are definitely some themes that may not be desirable to all readers, but it's just as dark as you'd expect from a book with revenge in the title. Not overly gory, the story has you invested from the very start, ready to walk this path with Rowan and Saint. Dornet and Russo deliver a stellar performance, really bringing this tale of payback so much life. Well worth both a read and a reread!

I love it when someone has the ballz to write a true revenge story without the “oh but now I realize I’m a better person and I will forgive everyone and go knit a sweater “ Excellent story for my dark mood and excellent narration.

Beautifully dark!

Eeeee, this was an EASY 5 stars. Was dark, adorable and spicy. Definitely going to be checking out more titles by this author. The voice acting was great too. All around a fun book and probably one I'll re-listen to.

Who said psychopaths can't make great boyfriends?

I enjoyed this story a lot. It's fun, the characters are likeable and I enjoy a good revenge story where baddies get their comeuppance.

Really good!

Very engaging. Once you get started, you will be addicted. The story will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride but it is one that won’t be easily forgotten. This is the first time I’ve listened to or read a book by this author but I have ordered a bunch of the other books because of this one. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous mix of light and dark

This book is a wonderful mix of a classic Hallmark Christmas Movie mixed With the Lifetime Movie of the week. It rides a thin line between a light and fluffy book and dark, harsher book. It's hard to explain but was one of the more fun books I’ve read lately. I highly recommend this book if people want to dip their toes into darker books as it's darker but still has lighter undertones and humor. (This will be a series, with book 2 already released and on audio with the 3rd book being set for release soon.)

Roman is a young man scarred from a horrible attack as a teen. He is tasked by his therapist to write out what he feels about his attackers in a letter to Santa. After finding the letter, assassin Saint, believes he’s found is soulmate. The events that happen when these two meet and have to move past misunderstandings, fears, trauma and loneliness, is a rollercoaster ride that had me laughing, cringing, and tearing up. I don't want to say too much more since so much of what happens could be spoilers, though if you have triggers just be cautious because there are some heavy themes and events in this book.

I have read this book as both an eBook and an audiobook. Both were great experiences. The audiobook is narrated by Simon Dornet and Nick J. Russo. They both have great performances and brought the characters to life. My only issue is with the pace. The narrations feels a little slow, but I increased the playback speed a little and that helps a lot.

I was given a copy of the eBook and gave my honest opinion but updated my reviews after purchasing and listening to the audiobook to help with wordiness and add in my thought on the audio version.
