hockey, fake dating, brothers best friend delight!

This was a spicy + cute prequel novella following Lainey, a shy, introverted book lover and her brother’s best friend & college hockey heartthrob, Alex.

After Alex notices Lainey getting harassed by some guys on the football team, he steps in and pretends to be her boyfriend to get them off her back. Lainey agrees to a fake dating relationship after Alex proposes to keep the jig going until her school dance event so she can plan and prepare in peace without other boys around campus bothering her. His reason being once they know she’s “his”, she will be left unbothered.

I really enjoyed the narration of this one and thought the voice actors shined while bringing this story to life.

The story for me lacked a bit for me at the conflict toward the end, with Lainey being upset about what footballers said to Alex when he stepped in to defend her yet again but she didn’t witness it because she ran away immediately.

All in all, I still look forward to continuing the series and meeting the other players on the team!

Love this!! Quick and fun and oh so swoony! Adore these two and their chemistry

So cute!

This is a quick read but it is so cute. It gives you that feeling of love can always find you even when you doubt it all, and I love that. It’s worth a read and a reread! Alex is the kind of book boyfriend that is to swoon over, he is kind, patient, strong, and dirty. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for more in this series!

Sweet Hockey Novella

I love this series, it's low drama and frankly totally something I love. So many books have heartbreaking twists and turns and sometimes I just want a feel good book with only a little drama to keep it real. Sweet, romantic and a little bit of spice thrown in. A perfect short read.

Cute and quick read

I loved this novella! I especially loved Alex Kydd and Stephanie Rose as Alex and Lainey. This was super cute, spicy, and sweet. A great prequel for a great series!

Now much to this book. Very little to bite your teeth into. I did appreciate this wasn’t the he’s my brothers best friend we have to be secretive trope. The male main character, Alex, comes right out and claims her from the start, no “will her brother be mad”. He doesn’t appear to give that a thought. Even so, Lainey was boring and this stories plot needed more rising actions. Felt more like it went from introduction to exposition with very little in between.

Story line

Very interesting but story was to short. Story line was very believable and real true life story.

Cute story, terrible male narration

The overall story was sweet and somewhat well put together. The female narrator was good, but the male narrator sounded like he was hiding in a closet trying to whisper dirty talk over the phone. He is usually someone I have enjoyed listening to, so this was rather disappointing.
