My Thoughts on Believe It or Knot: Part One

This was such an emotional and powerful and truly excellent RH romance. From the very beginning I rooted for Demi to break free and escape the living nightmare she was trapped in. And when she finally did, I understood her fears and apprehension, but loved the way her men handled it. I thought this book was so well written and could also understand why it came with warnings. Demi went through A LOT and while some of it is just talked about, some of it isn’t. And either way you get a good sense for how she felt or is feeling in those moments. I loved the multiple POVs this story was told from and getting into the guy’s heads. It just made them that much more likable. This story ends on one heck of a cliffhanger which I expected but still has me immediately wanting to run to grab the next book. The cherry on top of this excellent experience was the narration. Both of the narrators are newer voices or ones I don’t hear often, but they knocked it out of the park with this one. I loved their performance. Even with so many characters to voice I felt like they did such a great job. I look forward to hearing them in part two and in general hope to hear them on more books.

My heart leapt right out of my chest

This is the first book in the Runaway Omega series, focusing on an omega, Demi, who is on the run from the pack who has been courting her. Tropes and themes include omegaverse, why choose (MFMMMMM), praise, knotting and nesting, heat trauma, hurt/comfort and touch her and die. Please see content warnings for dark themes and spice content.

The Lovely: I loved, loved this pack, and how they treated the omega. Some are a bit alpha-hole-y (so much growling) but they respect the FMC, and omegas in general. Speaking of the FMC, the omega, I applaud how she thought for and stood up for herself, even when she was out numbered and over powered. How they treat her, and want to help her heal made me swoon so hard.

Also Lovely: While very much a romance and character driven story, I appreciated the underlying plot and how it worked seamlessly. I was angry at some characters, right along with the FMC and the pack. And those villains *really* hold a grudge.

Recommendation: That ending shook me. Knowing this was book one of two (for this FMC/pack) I was expecting something to happen towards the end, but certainly not that. My heart leapt right out of my chest. I will be starting book two immediately.

Just Ok

I wanted to like this series more because I'm a fan of Omegaverse stories, especially when love blooms after a character has known only pain. However, as a picky Omegaverse reader, I found some aspects frustrating. While I enjoyed the Reverse Harem (RH) element, the lack of bisexuality among the men made the dynamic feel unrealistic. The description implies MMFMM, but it’s misleading—it should be labeled as MFM. The story does have a slow burn in part one, which makes sense given Demi’s need to heal from her past, but it felt overly drawn out. Although it wasn't a bad book, my expectations were let down due to the misleading description and pacing. Expect a cliffhanger in part one, and while I’ll read part two, I’m hoping for a smoother flow.

Great omegaverse with dark themes

One of my fav omega verse’s I’ve read so far. Love the heroine in danger, vulnerable but also a survivor, and I also loved how respectful each of her scent match pack was with her first heat - esp given her past trauma. I don’t usually like larger harems (this one has six guys) but I did feel like each guy had a moment and role and feel discernible (though still wish we had a few less, just to allow more deep bonds or develop).

Most of all I appreciated a healthy balance of plot and spice- we don’t spend the entire book in heat phase (and I liked how the heat portrayal isn’t quite so feral LOL). Protective and hugely doting pack is also delicious.

I was especially impressed with the audio- Christian Leatherman voiced all 6 guys (with different tones and voices, one is British) with ease and clarity- they do feel distinct. And Isabelle Turner brings great emotional range to our damaged, running omega. Glad I sprang for the audio.

Don’t skip it

The voice actors did an amazing job especially with so many voices to act out. The story was amazing (barring the FMC being her own worst enemy for like 15 chapters haha) but other than that it’s one of the better RH omegaverses I’ve read/listened to

Corny but enjoyable

The actual smut scenes made me blush and have to pause multiple times, which is rare for me. I think the corniness was a little much but overall enjoyable, will be listening to the next part.

Ok but a bit boring

I love omegaverse stories but much of this book was meh it wasnt entertaining and the description was very misleading in stating it was a mfmmmm this is not correct. Book is very much a slow burn and is vanilla no mfmmmm.

Not very imaginative but not bad

Pretty much the whole beginning of the book is about an omega actively going into heat. If you’ve already read an omega verse, I recommend speeding up the narration through the first few chapters.
