Pack Omega? More like Pack Burden.

Sage was perfectly content in her little bubble, working and living as a Beta at a large company. Keeping in her own lane and not making any waves.

Until the universe decided to give her an abrupt status change.

When a far from ideal development occurs and throws everything in her life into utter chaos, Sage is forced into an unforgiving world of Alphas, brutality, and pack politics.

She is nothing like the Omega they imagined, and they are far from the Alphas she pictured.

Can four alluring Alphas give her back some semblance of her life and give her the freedom she fears is slipping through her hands? Or will she be stuck in a world where she is destined to be owned and destroyed?

Contains mature themes.

I really liked the story but was also frustrated with different things. Sage is a beta turned omega and is thrust into an omega haven but you learn quickly this haven isn’t what it seems. Sage says many times how she feels like what she’s being told doesn’t add up but because she’s new to this world she just goes with it. The carer at the center repeatedly tells her only one pack wants to be with her out of all the packs she’s seen including the pack who comes daily to see her and she actually feels a connection too the same pack who has an alpha who helped her through her initial transition the day her world changed yet she continues to believe what the carer says to her. Sage is portrayed as a strong FMC then in the next sentence she’s very docile and easily manipulated. The book seems like there was a lot of filler and not enough about the actual conflict of the story. The ending had a big boom then fell flat.
The male narrator voice also bothered me. I caught myself speeding up the story many times when he was speaking.

Good story but not my fav

i am a die hard Melissa Huxley fan and this is one of my favorites of hers. But the male narrator just didnt do it for me unfortunately. The female narrator was amazing!

I had to keep speeding up the male narrators sections bc it was just too slow. I normally listen at a 2x rate but for his sections i was at 3x just to make it match the females narration. The story itself is amazing. Just not a hit with the male narrator unfortunately.

I have mixed emotions.
