This series is fANTastic! There are very few low points so far. Like dungeon crawler Carl, at every point I've been excited to hear what's coming next.

Jeff Hays is AMAZING, and possibly the best narrator around at the moment. Annie Ellicott is great as well, and voices most of my favorite characters in this series. If you're a fan of isekai or litrpg pick this up.

Reborn as an Ant

Chrysalis: Books 1-3 Box Set by RinoZ is basically a litRPG goldmine, especially if you're on Kindle Unlimited. You snag three audiobooks for the price of one with whispersync, which is a sweet deal.

The story dives into that classic "reborn as a monster" trope, but it throws a curveball by keeping the protagonist, Anthony, as an ant throughout. No instant human transformation here; he's all about steadily mutating and evolving, which is clearly superior to the alternative.

Anthony's a riot as the main character. His humor and enthusiasm shine, though not everyone might dig his puns and antics. Honestly, you certainly have to question his sanity at times. Still, you gotta respect his dedication to his ant colony and his readiness to put his life on the line for them. Plus, his human insights add a neat strategic layer to the story.

The other characters, both human and monster, add spice to the mix. Humanity might not always look pretty in this tale, but it feels real. And the monsters? They're a colorful bunch, each with their own quirks and personalities; even if they are more simplistic than the humans.

The worldbuilding bits, like those in-world book excerpts and multiple points of view, really flesh things out. You get insights that the characters themselves might miss, making the whole experience richer.

Shoutout to narrators Jeff Hays and Annie Ellicott for their lively performances. Hays brings the energy, while Ellicott nails those female voices. And major props for the skip-ahead tips to dodge those tedious repeated stat sheets – a true lifesaver (book 3 appears to have dropped this feature).

In short, Chrysalis: Books 1-3 Box Set serves up a fun litRPG ride with quirky characters, immersive worldbuilding, and lively narration. A fun bubblegum read/listen. I’ll be nabbing the fourth book soon.

Great book series for a great price

This book series was a little slow coming on but ended like gang busters. Great series, great narrator casting.

if you like quick progression and excited narration this is a great choice

Isekai about an ant that struggles to keep his colony safe. While surviving he manages to grow a colony and save a human town.

Great Series!

Was skeptical about a litrpg about ants but had a great time. Rushed to purchase book 4 and would recommend this set.

Far better than I expected

it was a surprisingly compelling and good book about a reincarnation in an ant. The depth and struggle feel genuine, the mentality shift subtle but consistent.

54 hours and ready for more

so I'd been hesitant to start this series because I was hesitant to spend the credit on the first book. once I saw this bundle along with narratori couldn't resist. I'm glad I picked it up.

An Amazing Production

There are a number of things that make this audio book enjoyable. But what makes it great is easier to define. Simply put, this is not an audio book - this is an audio production. It is more than just the incredibly talented voice actors. It is the combined talent and technology applied to a unique and engrossing story.

From the very beginning, there are a couple thoughts that stick with you. Is voice actor Jeff Hays that manic in person? Why does author RinoZ know so much about ants? Will Gandalf sue for the use of his beard in a book? These are the questions that just never go away.

The production has to be experienced to understand it. So stop reading my dull review and go listen to this 3 book ANThology!

Perhaps my new favorite series

A thrilling tale of determination, found family, and selflessness. My only wish is that the supporting cast were introduced sooner. The colony has such a great dynamic, and each character throughout shines when put in the spotlight.

fun but awkward

I really like the game mechanics of this world. the growth of anthony is great! the story/ world building is a little lax in the first 2 books. FINALLY the third book actually gives a plot that's more than just grow and level just for the sake of growing.
